  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Please forgive me folks.
I seem to have stirred up a lot of dissent and bad feeling, and caused a lot of hurt.
I really didn't intend this to escalate as it had - was just trying to work out what had been decided while I was away.
And am feeling sick reading through the thread this morning.
I am so very sorry - wish I had never posted. I should have thought it through.

And I really really have no wish to exclude anyone - if I came across that way it was through bad wording, not intent. If I have hurt you, please forgive me.

Mods - please can you lock this - don't want it to turn into another debate...

Criada I was the one that over reacted .... Not you and I am deeply sorry for that. You have no need to apologize for anything.

I was just touchy because of some things that have happened in another section of the board and it made my attitude bad. That is my problem not yours.

Please don't feel sorry for asking a question and for just getting me on a bad day. It was just a really bad day for me yesterday is all. I am sorry for having made you feel sad about anything.
