CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

We COULD use this thread to "confess" about some of our major & embarrassing "goofs"....
I'll go first: I was in the mall a few months ago and saw this girl working in the cookie store that I was CONVINCED was somebody I'd worked with a couple years ago. I mean, she could've been her twin! So I boldly walked up to the counter & gave her a look with raised eyebrows & a grin, like "I know you recognize me!"....she looked at me blankly, so I said (still not getting the message), "I can't believe you don't recognize me! It's Debby!" She still had a blank look, and then I started feeling a bit uncomfortable, so I whimpered, "You know, we used to work together at that doctor's office?"
Yes, you know the outcome....it was NOT the girl who I thought it was....:o

Debby, I would have been so embarrassed . That's the reason I never go up to someone LOL Though on one of the photos you posted here on CF one time I could have sworn that you and Andie looked just like a mother and daughter I know from my daughter's January 2002 baby group. Had to do a double take before I realised that you weren't leading a double life

I don't have a goof story but I do have a story. My Junior High family studies teacher liked to use the word Goof but goof was a bad word according to her so she used the word "foog" instead. At first I thought she was German or something...nope, apprently calling someone a "foog" is more polite than goof.
