  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Anyone heard of Ryan Lott?

He isn't a classical composer, but he was trained to be one. I can't recall his full story off of the top of my head, but it's something like this: he attended and graduated some extremely prestigious music school, and as soon as he graduated, instead of writing classic music, he started an alternative/ambient/electronic/post-rock solo-project called SON LUX. It's amazing. It definitely resembles the structure of crescendoing classical music. I highly recommend a thorough listen-- it's good to listen to in pieces, but it's even better if you run through his whole debut album in one sitting. The album is titled "At War With Walls & Mazes", and I've yet to see a single negative review about it.

The songs from the recording sessions of ATWW&M are "Pieces", "Break", and "Throw"... the rest are remixes of other artists which are also great!
