  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Something to think about. If you are a believer in the faithful finished cross work of Jesus, His death taking away all of our sins, past, present and future, and His ressurection showing that the Father was satisfied with the payment made, then you are immediately joined with Christ and are in Christ.

Sin is no longer an issue to a believer.:clap: We are dead to sin and alive to Christ. We were buried with Him in His death and we arose anew with Him in His ressurection.

We are totally righteous today in Christ. Practically we do sin, I am not trying to say that we are sinless, although we should sin less, Having the seal of the Holy Spirit who now resides in you and prays for you continually. You have become a new creation in Christ and are adult sons and daughters and now choose how you are to walk in this world.

Lets thank God for His unspeakable gift. He is the most high God and totally worthy of all of our praise and worship.

We need to reconcile all to believe that God answered the sinner's prayer 2000 years ago on the cross. No need today to do anything to get to God. He has completed all of the work. We need to believe it.

Ro 4:4 Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt.
5 But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.

Our duty here is to be ambassadors of Christ telling all who will believe that God is not mad at them and is not judging sin today as their sin was placed on Christ at the cross. So if sin is not the issue, what is the issue? What will you believe about what Jesus Christ has already accomplished on your behalf.

What amazes me is that most professing believers I encounter on a regular basis think that sin IS the issue. They are concentrating their efforts on their SIN and everyone elses, instead of on the SIN BEARER and the good news that sin has been dealt with ONCE and for ALL.

We are certainly not SINLESS, but as we understand the information God has given to us thru His GRACE, we certainly DO sin LESS.

Titus 2:11 For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,

It's wonderful to know that as a believer in the finished crosswork of Christ, trusting what HE accomplished for me I stand complete in Him, in His righteousness, forgiven all my sins.

Colossians 2:10 And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power:

Colossians 2:13 And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses;

Ephesians 4:32 And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.

2 Corinthians 5:21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

Sin is the issue, but only one.

"But I tell you the truth, it is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper shall not come to you; but if I go, I will send Him to you. And He, when He comes, will convict the world concerning sin, and righteousness, and judgment; concerning sin, because they do not believe in Me;" (John 16:7-9).

Some assume the Spirit's work is to make people consious of and sorry for their sins, but the truth of the matter is to the unregenerate He reveals only the sin of rejecting Christ. Therefore, in this dispensation the only issue between God and the unsaved is whether they believe or receive what Christ has done.

In Christ,

Excellent Tracey!:thumbsup: His death, burial and resurrection is ALL we need for reconciliation with God...amen. Believing in the finished work of Christ is what gains us access to heaven. Jesus told us that the worlds sin is UNBELIEF.

EPH3 his death did not take away our sins. Remember the Bible says that without the shedding of blood there is no remission of sins. You guys try and try to say that you are saved by his death because you can't reconcile the fact that the blood He shed was the blood of the New Covenant. We are saved by the blood of the New Covenant that Jesus Christ shed on the cross.

You can not get away from it. If the blood of Jesus Christ did not take away your sin then you are not one of His. If it did then the blood of the New Covenant washed away your sins and therefore you are a New Covenant Christian.

Could you share with everyone how that the blood of the New Covenant could possibly take away YOUR sins since that is a promise for the House of Israel?

The ultimate inconsistency is saying that the New Covenant isn't in effect today and yet at the same time saying that the promise of sins forgiven belongs to you, which is based upon the promise given to the House of Israel in Jeremiah 31:34. You have no basis to say that you sins are forgiven any other way.

I have noticed that ya'll don't talk a whole lot about the blood of Christ, even though without the blood of Christ your sins can not be forgiven. Are you trying to dodge the blood issue because the blood of the New Covenant refutes all that you believe?

The blood that Christ shed on the Cross paid the sin debt for ALLmankind (present, past, and future), since the fall of Adam. The unbeliever will never be judged by their sins.

According to 1Cor.3:8-15, when one that is a believer stands before the Judgment Seat of Christ, that one will be judged and rewarded according to their works. Their sins are not in question. The "sin debt" was paid for on the Cross.

According to Revelation 20:11-14, all the unsaved, since the fall of Adam, will also be judged according to their works. Sin isn't the issue there either.

When Jesus bled and died upon the Cross, He paid the "sin debt" for ALL mankind. Therefore no one will have an excuse for neglecting "so great salvation."

God Bless.

Before I adress this post I need to know what do you define sin as? Is sin different to the work rape? The work murder? what about.....' The works of darkness ' ? Rom 13:12

' The works of the flesh are evidant which are: Adultery, fornication.... ' Gal 5:19 are these sins or only works. Where in scripture is the difference made.

Hint to a definition of sin ' For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.

'

Here's one where works and sin are synomous or interchangable....

' Blessed are those whose lawess deeds are forgiven and whose sins are covered. ' Rom 4:7

Sin is what every thought, word or deed that the blood of Jesus covered.

What's with this word game?

I must be misunderstanding you.

If everyones sins are paid for will hell be empty? I genuinely am missing something here. If you can put your finger on it please let me know.

Also this sentence ' Sin is what every thought, word or deed that the blood of Jesus covered. ' doesn't make sense. :scratch:

Man can sin by thought, word, or deed. But Jesus paid for ALL the sins of the world, even those that have not been committed yet. It is His blood shed on the Cross that paid the "sin debt" for all mankind.

Hell will not be empty. The ones that will go there are those that DID NOT accept the free gift of God grace by not placing their FAITH ALONE in the Cross work (death, burial, and resurrection), of Christ for their salvation/justification.

I was once a sinner that was saved by the grace of God, through the faithfulness of His Son. Now I am a saint that still sins.

Ephesians 1:7 In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;

I'm a grace believer, a member of the body of Christ(the one new man of the GRACE dispensation)...saved through his shed blood I have total forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his GRACE.... it's not rocket science ..... we're in the dispensation of grace.... we're saved because of his grace, not because of his covenant with Israel.

I don't think I follow. I believe that I a saved by faith in Christ, and in His death burial and resurrection. As you say...

'saved through his shed blood I have total forgiveness of sins'.

But I believe that even though Christ died for the sins of the whole world, those that do not believe will ' die in their sins, ' unforgiven and punished for their sins. If their sin is paid for, why do they pay for it again in hell?

If you say ' because they did not have faith in Christ, ' isn't this itself a sin? Rom 14:23
This is a Dispensational teaching I haven't come across before. Dispy will read this so I won't repeat it as a reply to him.

How could the blood of Jesus Christ pay the sin debt for the whole world since it is the blood of the New Covenant which, you say, is for the House of Israel? You guys are flip flopping as it suits you. You pick and choose what you want to believe and what you want to ignore. If it doesn't fit with what you believe just ignore it and maybe it will go away.

1 Cor 11:25 After the same manner also [he took] the cup, when he had supped, saying, This cup is the new testament(diatheke) in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink [it], in remembrance of me.

Heb 8:6 But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a better covenant(diatheke), which was established upon better promises.

The promise of sins forgiven is not yours to claim since it was given to the House of Israel in Jeremiah 31:34. How can you claim that your sins are forgiven IF the New Covenant is not in effect today, WHEN the blood of the New Covenant is what you are claiming has paid your sin debt?

I will say again, if the New Covenant, which Jesus said was in His blood, is not in effect today then your sins are not forgiven, God still remembers your sins and therefore you are lost in your sin and going to HELL.

What you guys are saying is the ultimate in inconsistency.

Dispy how is that true since Jesus said that the New Covenant was in his blood and the New Covenant, according to you, is not for all of mankind but only for the House of Israel, plus you say that it isn't in effect today?

The promise of sins forgiven is a promise given to Israel in Jeremiah 31:34, therefore on what basis can you say that your sins are forgiven since the provision for that comes from the blood of the New Covenant?

If the blood that Christ shed was the blood of the New Covenant, which according to you is not for you, then how can you say that your sins are washed away?

If the blood of the New Covenant was not for the sins of all of God's people or it's not in effect today, then that means you are lost in your sins and headed for Hell.

Forgiveness of sins was not offered to anyone outside of the covenant of God, therefore if you are not a part of God's covenant today then your sins can not be forgiven.

How can you reconcile that, Dispy? Rmember without the shedding of blood there is no remission and Christ's blood that was shed was the blood of the New Covenant.

1 Cor 11:25 After the same manner also [he took] the cup, when he had supped, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink [it], in remembrance of me.

In the OT, God made a covenant with the entire house of Israel. In order for one that was a Gentile, be be covered under that covenant, that one had to become a Jew (proselyte). The Gentiles were in a "set aside" condition, and not under that covenant.

When Jesus started His ministry upon the earth, He commanded His disciples: "Go not into the way of the Gentiles, and into any city of the Samaritans enter ye not: But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel" (Matt.10:5,6).

In Matt.15:24 Jesus told the Syrophenician wonan: "I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel.

In Rm.15:8 Paul tell us: "Now I say that Jesus Christ was a minister of the circumcision...to confirm the promises made to the fathers."

When we get to Matt.26:28,29, Jesus is speaking to His disciples prior to His death by crucifiction. The "so called" great commission was still not given, therefore, we cannot read that into these verses.

The "new testament" (covenant) that Jesus is speaking about is the one promised in Jeremiah 31: 31-34, and referenced in Hebrews 8:6-13.

When I read Jeremiah 31, and Hebrews 8, I know exactly with whom this new covenant is with. It is with the house of Israel, and the house of Judah.

What is the nation of Israel's status today? They are in a "set aside" condition just as the Gentiles were back at the Tower of Babel, in Genesis 11.

The Gentiles were never under the Old Covenant because they were in a set aside position. Only Israel was under the OC.

What is Israel's position today? They are in the same position that the Gentiles were put into back at the Tower of Babel. They, like the Gentiles, are in a temporary "set aside" condition (Rm.11:7-12), and God's covenants with Israel are in limbo, ...till the fulness of the Gentiles be come in (vs 25).

Is God dealing with mankind today on the basis of the covenants with Israel? NO, NO, NO!!! Those covenants are in temporary limbo.

God is dealing with ALL mankind on the basis of "...the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began" (Rm.16:25).

In Rm.11:7-12 we read of the setting aside of the nation of Israel. Verse 25 tell us how long the "blindness" of Israel will be. Verse 32 tell us why Israel is set aside: "For God hath concluded them all in unbelief, that he might have mercy upon all (Jews and Gentiles alike).

Paul in Ephesians 2 is speaking to believers and says: 11 Wherefore remember, that ye being in time past Gentiles in the flesh (heathen), who are called Uncircumcision by that which is called the Circumcision in the flesh made by hands;
12 That at that time ye (Gentiles) were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world:
13 But now in Christ Jesus ye (Gentiles) who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.
14 For he is our peace, who hath made both (Jew and Gentile) one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us;
15 Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain (set aside Jews and Gentiles) one new man, so making peace;
16 And that he might reconcile both (Jew and Gentile) unto God in one body (the Body of Christ) by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby:
17 And came and preached peace to you which were afar off, and to them that were nigh.
18 For through him we (Jew and Gentile) both have access by one Spirit unto the Father.

From the above, one should be able to see that God, after setting Israel aside, made a new creation from believing Jews and Gentiles. Not on the basis of Covenants with Israel, but on the basis of the Cross work of Christ.

I, as a believer, am a members of "the Body of Christ." Members of "the Body of Christ" are neither Jews, or spiritual Jews.

Jesus did not die just for the sins of believers. His death paid the "sin debt" for all mankind. Salvation/justification is a free gift to all. Those that reject it will not receive it.

I partake of the Lord's Supper as a memorial to the Lord's death, as per 1Cor.11:25.

God Bless.

I agree with you dispy, and for illustrative purposes let's pretend that i could buy infinite tickets to a movie... And i bought everybody in the town a ticket, it was a free gift to them, but not everybody would hear about it, and not everybody would believe it, and not everybody would go. The fact is is that i bought tickets for everybody, but only the ones who believed would actually get the rewards, obviously the consequences wren't the same as we are talking in real life, but i think it serves it's purpose
