I have just found out that my daughter is expecting. She is due in September. It is so bittersweet. Terry would have been such a wonderful grandfather. He loved babies. This is my first grandchild. For the first time since Terry passed, I feel like there is something to live for. I know I have to press on for this child's sake. I will be the only grandparent for this precious little one. My son-in-law is from Germany, so his parents will have an ocean between them and this child.

CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Jen,this is an awesome thing and for it to be at this time. Your first is so great. Why didn't God give you them first..I pray all goes well, try not to look on it as what he will be missing, but how much joy this child will bring back to your life. If its a boy, maybe the'll name his middle name after his grandpa. God Bless

How wonderful for you Jean and I know exactly how you feel. My daughter is due the end of May with my first grandchild. My husband had been looking forward to being a grandpa.
