Something Odd

I'd like to buy the new Legend of Zelda game, but I think I'm buying it for the wrong reason. I feel like I'm being reeled in by this character Ghirahim. It concerns me that he's a demon lord, because I used to be into the occult. It also gives me bad thoughts against Jesus, and I was wondering if it's OCD/ worrying too much, or the Holy Spirit warning me.
Would I go to hell for buying this game, would it be defying God?
I'm in a rut, I feel this way about Mario, too.
Somebody help. No, this is not a joke post.

I'm with Cabal on this one. It sounds to me like this could present you with a temptation to reenter something you've freed yourself from. I don't believe there is any condemnation to be had in buying the game, but there could be if it were to lead you down dark roads. If you are questioning this already and have these concerns, I would say avoid it. Why place something in your own path that might lead you astray.

To put it another way, if you have been freed from alcoholism, would you then think it wise to go visit the ABC store? That's obviously more extreme than what you've presented, but, just from what you've written, I do think the analogy is valid.

If the game is causing you problems like it seems to be I would suggest not getting. It's a video game and it's not going to reel you into satan or anything but the fact that you're thinking it might one could make it a stumbling block for your faith and two alot less enjoyable.

God gives us wisdom to make the right choices. A game is a game, just as alchohol is a beverage or weed is a plant. You have a choice to make which path to take. If you already feel the stirrings of things you shouldn't feel on a choice of game, take it to God in prayer. Prayer is the best thing anyone can do every day to help keep communications open with God. When we've stumbled in the past or have a 'way' of life which we used to live that wasn't conducive to keeping a close relationship with God, often times we developed bad habits during those times. Habits are very hard to break and you don't want to go back to those habits. It could be habits of thought, habits of desires. It is important to keep good habits in place of the bad ones and not put yourself into temptation to reexplore the bad habits. There are thousands of games on the shelves, I'm sure you should be able to find another one that you'll have fun with.
