• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I noticed a lot of posts were focussing on our negative experiences as clergy wives. I wonder if maybe we could share some positive aspects.

I love that because I am a clergy wife I get to have access to some other wonderful clergy wives.

I also love that it gives me easier access into the lives of women in our parish. I like that they often feel more open to sharing difficulties and allowing me to show them love and support. That is not without it's difficulties, but it is an immense privilege to be used by God in such a way.

I also love that I get to see God working through my husband in peoples lives. As he shares the gospel with them, teaches, preaches, does funerals, weddings, baptisms, etc, God works out his miracles in peoples lives. Again, what an immense privilege that is.

:) Erin you are so right about the negative postings - and I must say I have done my fair share. I try to post with humor so as not to sound so harsh & negative. I really think we need this space to be able to vent without fear of crucifixion -----BUT we really do need to practice encouraging & up lifting one another. It helps to know someone else has felt your pain , BUT it also truely helps ease that pain to have it rubbed with a word of praise and/or rejoicing.

I too enjoy the sweet fellowship with other Christian women. I meet Godly people that I would otherwise not ever know about. One of the greatest blessings for me as a pastor's wife is the many children down through the years whose life I have been able to be a part of. To see those children grow & see their genuine appreciation for you & sometimes when they are all grown up - they see you & give you a hug & such a sweet greeting. To see many of them to continue to serve the Lord - it is a joy to have served the Lord by reaching out to the little ones.

I can only pray I will be able to say the same thing one day. I am one of those kids though. I was brought along to church by a christian friend, and became very close to the daugher of our minister (she is still my closest friend). Her parents were an inspiration to me as a teenager, and continue to be now. They are one of the reasons we are in ministry at all. I can only pray I can encourage other children who's parents are not christians in the same way I was encouraged by them.
