God is...

He is a friend to the friendless,
He is with us for eternity.

He is a father to the fatherless,
He is the Holy Father.

He is a voice for the voiceless,
He is the Lion of Judah.

He is a name for the nameless,
He calls us His Children.



Ode to Jesus Christ

Jesus Christ, my lord and savior,
Without you I am dead.

Not to the fires of Hell I go,
But through your fires I see gold.

As I sink into the darkness of insanity,
You are my anchor and my light.

Jesus Christ, my Lord and Savior,
With you I am made alive.

I Know the Feeling



To feel a million miles distant

In a crowded room.

I know the feeling.



To resist the darkness,

Even though it’s the easiest thing in the World.

I know the feeling.



To have on the proverbial haz-mat suit

To approach the purest thing in all Creation.

I know the feeling.



To barely touch the hem of the Saviour’s garment with bare fingers,

And be totally set free from guilt, shame, and unworthiness

Yeah, I know the feeling.

The Cat-herder's Prayer

1 The LORD is my cat-herder, I shall not be in want.


2 He makes me lie down on top of warm televisions,

He leads me beside the fresh water bowl,



3 He restores my soul.

He guides me in paths of righteousness

for His name's sake.



4 Even though I run

In front of a speeding car,

I will fear no evil,

For you will run out into the street and fetch me;

Your patting and scratching behind my ears,

That comforts me.



5 You prepare a food bowl before me

In the presence of those other cats.

You anoint my head with pats;

And I start purring.



6 Surely goodness and love will follow me

All the days of my life,

And I will dwell in the house of the LORD

Forever.
