Do you think it would be biblical and Christian to 1) genetically alter (please note not at all abort) fetuses to reduce their suspectability to hereditary diseases and 2) to use techniques to extend lifespans (such as say cellular rejuvenation) if either of those technologies became feasible?

hm good question. yet the question I come up with is why would you want to do these things? Nevermind if they are good or not, but really if you are Christian and your hope is in Christ and in His return, why would you do these things especially the second one?

Didn't Paul say "If I die I will be with Christ, yet if I remain it is for your benefit, to live is Christ and to die is gain?" (paraphrase).

Then why do Christians receive medical treatment? And that quote actually shows why Christians should live besides simple selfishness-if we're in Heaven there is much work we cannot accomplish on this Earth.

Then why do Christians receive medical treatment?

Because God gave Doctors the ability to help with suffering, and Pain.

And that quote actually shows why Christians should live besides simple selfishness That is a Bold statement

-if we're in Heaven there is much work we cannot accomplish on this Earth.
That is why we must work until God calls us home, Medical experiments and theories with life it self. The main question do we have to take life? do we have to kill ? such as Abortion, it is not up to us to take life especially innocent life, the issue is controversal and if I take a life someone is going to want my life.
