  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I thought just for fun I'd start a thread with a couple of questions to get the ball rolling.

What is your most recent milestone? (Testing positive? Buying maternity clothes? Feeling baby kick?)

What are you most looking forward to about after the baby is born?

Who is the most excited about the baby, and what was their reaction?

My most recent milestone was buying clothes today. I have outgrown almost all my clothes, even though I'm pretty early on. Probably because I gained weight right before my pregnancy.

I'm looking forward to having a brandy.

The best reaction we got was from our 16 year old boy, who said "Woohoo!" and then very calmly walked out of the room.

Do you have any questions you wanna add?

my most recent milestone: there are a few -- i just reached six months, which just seems really pregnant to me, so i feel like the birth is not that far away. we also are about to paint the nursery and get all the furniture in there, which will be another big milestone. and the baby also just started kicking hard enough so that you can actually see my belly move, so that's pretty neat.

what i'm most looking forward to: seeing who she looks like! i'm DYING to know!

who was the most excited: proably his mom, but mine was pretty thrilled, too. my husband and i had actually decided that we WEREN'T going to have children about three weeks before i found out i was pregnant, so we weren't very thrilled at first, but now we're obviously very excited. :)

Hi - new to the pregnancy boards, but not too new to CF.

I'm just over 20 weeks... and my most recent milestone is feeling the baby move. My husband said he felt the baby move a few nights ago, but I haven't felt it on the outside yet. Although - we find out the gender of the baby a week from tomorrow! I CANNOT WAIT! We have names picked for both - and we want our son to learn how to say the name before the baby's born. (Austin Timothy or Abigail Jean) --

I'm not sure what I most look forward to after the baby's born. I have a 2 year old, and I'm anxious to see how he'll react, I guess.

I think I'm the most excited about the baby, actually :) I was ready to try for #2 on my son's 1st birthday! But my husband wanted to wait until he turned 2. My reaction to a + test was to run in my bedroom at 6am and jump on my husband and kiss him a ton!

Becky, I started wanting another as soon as my first had a first birthday, too! Now that I have six (four of them since birth) it's amazing how much slower I am to take things... yet here I am, set to have Peanut exactly two years after Davy.

Oy. What were we thinking? :)

Shainamsu... sounds like God just took over planning for you!

You know, forget about looking forward to not being pregnant. I'm just looking forward, now, to getting past morning sickness, and to finding out if Peanut is a boy or a girl, so I can start calling the wee one by a real name.

I am 33 weeks pregnant with my third

What is your most recent milestone? (Testing positive? Buying maternity clothes? Feeling baby kick?)

Outgrowing maternity clothes!, oh yeah and not sleeping :(

What are you most looking forward to about after the baby is born?

Puting him down? No really, prolly watching his sweet breathing, being able to check on him without waiting to feel a kick!

Who is the most excited about the baby, and what was their reaction?

umm dunno, DS told me I was pregnant (he is 3), but Prolly my Mother, she is very happy to be getting another grandkid, and my bro just had a girl in August so it will be two close together which she thinks is neat. my MIL on the other hand....

This Friday, I will reach my 7 month milestone! I just can't believe I am already that far along! In a way, this pregnancy has seemed very fast, but at the same time, it has seemed to take forever, if that makes any sense! :p Actually, 1st tri seemed slow, 2nd tri went fast, and now in the 3rd tri, it is starting to slow again.

What are you most looking forward to about after the baby is born?
After the baby is born, I can not wait to see if she looks more like me or my husband, or if she is just a really good mix of the two of us! :) Just looking at her, knowing that she is part of both of us will be the most wonderful and surreal feeling! Also, I can't wait to be able to actually sleep on my right side again! I've always loved sleeping on my right side, but if I try to do it now, the baby starts kicking constantly until I flip over.

Who is the most excited about the baby, and what was their reaction?
I would say that both my husband and I are equally excited about this baby. We wanted her before we even found out we were pregnant. I took a couple of at-home pregnancy tests and received very faint positives on them, so we were cautiously excited at that point. Then I went to my doctor's office and took a test there to confirm the pregnancy. I remember calling my husband after getting the positive there and how excited he was to hear "positive." Of course both of our families are very excited too, as this will be the first grand child on both sides! :)

Me too, my son turned one this week. But we are making ourselves wait a while longer before trying for several reasons... ;)

Realizing there are only 6 weeks left :) and seeing the baby squirm around as my belly moves. Not to mention having my belly button pop out - it's hysterical to look at when I laugh :)

Finding out if it is a boy or a girl and also having a Pina Coloda (told DH to bring the blender to the hospital:))

Our kids (ages 4 1/2 and almost 3), especailly our daughter. After the previous two miscarriages (they only knew of one), they are so excited that God is giving us another baby. Everyone in her preschool knew before our families did.
