HELP!!

I'm stuck at work (3rd shift). It's Saturday. I should be out doing something productive, bit nooooo. Here I am working. BORED.

NOT a bit fun, is it? I actually prefer 3rd shift jobs, myself - but that may be because I'm NOT a morning person! Currently I work 2nd shift.

Eh... somewhat fun. I'm just bored. I choose the shift so I agree that later the better, but on Saturday's it's just a tad boring.

It's still snowing here and I'm a fan of taking drives in the snow so that doesn't help.

I'm suprised that we don't have snow yet. This morning there was a lot of frost but the weather guy just said snow is nowhere near us. I'm in Missouri...

I never had to work Saturdays on 3rd shift - mine was Sunday night to Thursday night. Off Friday (day) until Sunday evening at 10:20pm.

I'm on 2nd shift now. Its terrible - my sleep is very messed up, but I prefer working with fewer people. I go in at 2:10pm and since I'm on overtime I dont get out of there until 1:40am Monday-Thursday.

Yeah I'm kindda lucky I usually only work 3 days a week 6pm- 8am. However to make up for "lost hours" I have to put in one Saturday every third week. Not the worst but it works.

I, like you , prefer later shifts too. No red tape/corporate mumbojumbo to deal with. I requested it. My sleep is out of whack too but I just loose a little while I'm working and try to gain it back when I'm off ( in theory that's supposed to work, right?)

It just hasn't stopped snowing here yet. It's been a constant (not heavy) downfall so far. It's supposedly not going to let up until sometime tommorow afternoon. Fun is!

I lucked into my second shift job. When I was hired into the company I work for I was on 2nd. I did get laid off for four months and when I returned I was put on days. As it happened, I hurt my hand at home and was off work for about 5 months while I had a few surgeries to restore use of it. Once back at work I was placed on second shift. Not too long ago I was asked to work on 1st shift again but I declined. I'm sure the manager was shocked, as so many fight for a day shift job!

I work for a large manufacturing company as a CNC operator. The work is challanging, as my math skills aren't near what they should be, but the experience is one that can take me far.

Working at nights is nice, but has some minor disadvantages. Of course, with small minds around, many that don't know me think I prefer to work with "the guys" because I'm a single woman.... The rumor mill spreads fast, but I am not - and those that matter know it!

What kind of work do you do?

Romance never became a genre. Thats what the marketing execs at Halmark want you to think. It also has never helped to shape society. However the beds shaped like hearts you find at the hotels in Niagra Falls, yeah, it helped to shape those.

Ivory, whats a CNC operator? I's a systems geek at one of the large Healthcare company's. I was "hired" to be a UNIX admin, but since then keep taking more positions as they need (read: the older guys dont want to learn anything else or do anything else so I get stuck with it). So now I support the UNIX enviornemt, Support the Distributed servers (nt 4.x /xp/w2k), support the global network, and have to run batch when that person is off in the evenings. So me and my 1000's of servers are all one big happy family.

Yeah it's a nice Job, it just Saturdays get boring sometimes because all my servers behave. Then again, every job gets boring sometimes. So what's everyone elses excuse for being awake.

HA! That's my favorite Christmas movie. I'm awake because my hubby is working on HIS server for work, too. And going to bed all alone is no fun. Plus, the cats are tearing through the house chasing each other and no one can sleep through that.

Sleeping on the floor? Ouch. I can luckily fall asleep anywhere and be comfortable , as long as it's my bed.
