• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Some of the report bugs have been fixed!

I just wanted to announce this to the members, so they are aware of the changes. Our techie guy, Ken, was able to fix some of the issues with reporting the bugs and having the icon pop up saying that post was reported.

They should be fixed now--- Ken was kind enough to send out this pm today:

Hey all, just wanted to let you know that I have changed the following things with the reports system.

- If the post was already reported, the exclamation point icon will be shown like it did in the past. (this is for all new reports starting at the time of this pm)

- The reported users shouldn't be able to edit their report threads anymore.

- I add the original post message being reported to reported threads, like you had in the past.

I know some are having issues with no permissions errors popping up when reporting. I think this is a server issue and will see if I can get it fixed. In the meantime, lets others know that they will have to hard refresh the page once or twice using "CTRL+F5" - this will clear the browser cache and accept the new code. This is the only work around at this time and I will let you know when I figure out whats going on there.

If you have any questions, please feel free to post in here or send me a pm.

Take care!

hmm, you mean that exclamation point next to the report button means the post was reported? i see a red exclamation next the report button on every post
No, they mean a little yellow triangle with an exclamation point in it - that's the indication that a post was reported. Look through the Discussion thread on the Nicene Creed, you'll see a couple of my posts with the icon they refer to on them ;)
