What Solutions have been accomplished in the last 4 days?

Since Sabbath
1. we voted to have 4 Sub forums. with 52 votes cast

since then nothing has been accomplished.
Competely agreed. I think Satan found a weak spot while we are in this process, and is running rampid. :( It's so sad to see everyone so un-God focused. We need to get back on the ball again before it gets too out of hand. The more we get our focus back into productive things, the less we'll have time to argue. ^_^

Blessings and Love,
Sarah

Where is Woob? Where are Tall and Sophia? The people who got the ball rolling on this fiasco are not around!

Who is the site tech who is supposed to be working on putting the new format together? Is it being done? Has it even been started?

We're like a bunch of employees wandering around the plant wondering where the boss and foreman went. :sigh:

Hm..Good points there, Night. Although, I'd think we could still manage to be a lot more productive and cooperative even without them, eh?

The problem is, I have about 20 topics in my head that I want to get going on, but I don't dare post them in the main forum. I'm patiently waiting for the private Progressive subforum to be put up.

Waiting.....waiting.....and waiting...............

As much as it's sad they can't be posted in the main, this is why I don't get why this whole split thing is even being considered. Why do people have a problem with talking in the private sub forums and respecting other people's feelings if there's a difference in opinions? =\ Obviously some (like yourself) are fine with this. THe longer we take on debating this split, the longer it'll take to find out if the sub forum set up will even work. Why not test it out first?

the whole split thing is retarded, I think seventh day adventist should all have the same beliefs. there have been so many lunatics making their own brand of adventism for example David koresh, Armstrong made his own religion, people making their own branches away from the main body of the church will eventually put too much strain on the root system making it to rot!! OOOH I do need some mental help or people got to get their crap together, are people just too bored or what make new rules change diets make decisions based on views and ideas and make feels good. Do you think people actually base anything on what Jesus would do . Welcome ANYONE into their lives to tell them the good message of Jesus. NO its all based on their own arrogance and prejudices and WOw Jesus would definately kick the crap out of this site for sure. AMEN

What was there to do when we had to put everything on hold to see whether there would be a split?

Once the poll was posted initially by Woob after T&O proposed the option in several threads, and Letalis gave it some weight we had no choice but to let it resolve.

I am quite ready to get back to the process, but as I understand it we will be waiting until all the rules are fairly well finalized to put them into place. Until then the interim rules are listed in a sticky.

There is currently a progressive forum for you to post in. Enjoy.

For the record, I in no way expected a poll to go up so quickly. I was asking others their view, and honestly I wanted to go straight to management and get the ball rolling without a vote.

I seriously felt, at the time, that if anyone else was as miserable as I was (and some were) that we should be able to make that decision on our own.

However, that being said, I'm glad the poll went up and I think a few things have been hammered out as a result of it.

I don't agree with people pointing the finger at you, Sophia, or Woob for making the poll. Now in all honesty, I would've had more options and different wording on some of it, BUT I am still glad it was talked about.

I don't think any of us expected recruitment from other sites and I won't even pretend that I'm not very concerned about that taking place.

I watched a lot of people personally attacking others as they simultaneously voted for "stricter rules against personal attacks." It's almost like people were so against the split, but didn't really consider what those rules would MEAN....like they weren't really going to happen or something.

My big fear, is now that it looks like that's the consensus, is when it actually comes time to start agreeing to what those stricter rules will be, people will vote against them.

If that happens, I will continue pushing for split forums, and I KNOW some people do not want that.....but some of the people that voted in that poll haven't been here in a very long time and had no idea which option was better for the people here.

And some of the people that voted against the split initially are starting to express seeing how it could actually end up being a necessity.

If the consensus is stricter rules, by golly stricter rules should have no trouble passing through the wiki and the votes. People better check their motivations at the door if they vote against ANYTHING that would help limit the amount of personal attacks on this forum.

Basically I think it would be quite telling to see anyone vote against those types of rules....especially after reassuring those of us that wanted a split that they'd be instituted instead.

I'm giving everyone the benefit of the doubt, I'm ready for a fresh start, and I think we really can get this going pretty quickly after we get mods in place.

I just think mods should be the next order of business and after that, personal attacks STOP, and there won't be any distraction from what's more important.

Tall, there was a point here where we weren't sure the split poll was even valid. Some were saying it was, others were saying it wasn't, etc.

It got quite confusing for a spell there.

The new rules for the subforums are not yet established. There is no way on God's green earth I am going to start the topics I have in mind in the Progressive subforum as it is now with parties from both sides merrily posting where they shouldn't be.

I have had quite enough of the ridiculous charges of 'attacking' the church and EGW, so that isn't even an option for me right now. You saw the disaster my 'pioneer' thread ended up being.

I will just wait Tall. Thanks anyway though.

I don't agree with people pointing the finger at you, Sophia, or Woob for making the poll.

It was being questioned wether the process that led to the poll was even valid. Since I was a part of that first thread Woob started, I was a little concerned we had messed up.

If that happens, I will continue pushing for split forums, and I KNOW some people do not want that.....but some of the people that voted in that poll haven't been here in a very long time and had no idea which option was better for the people here.

Wonders why anyone would want to lock out others from viewing their discussions?? hhhmmm
so we can stop the fighting. no evil there, you seem to see evil intent where it is not . This works for both traditionals, conservatives, evanglicals, and progressives it is so you can have a conversation with out being harassed or abused.

Ice--NO--you don't understand. Nothing was said about POSTING in those forums. I'm talking about simply VIEWING what is being said.

After all-we have that now. Anyone is allowed to VIEW in any forum what is being discussed, and this is good. BUT--opposing factions sould not POST in those safe havens.

But for anyone to suggest that the DOORS be locked--well--thats pretty sneaky if you ask me.

Some people cannot make the clear distinction between asking honest questions and attacking or bad-mouthing the church or EGW. Therefore, it has become necessary to hide certain discussions from the eyes of the overly-sensitive ones who don't want thier belief systems analyzed or challenged. Those who feel snug and secure in the Ark Of Safety and think everything is rosy and that there are no problems at all can now be innoculated from the big bad discussions. Others of us prefer to be a little more realistic about things and want a place to be able to address the issues in private.

This turn of events is very revealing. It is not uncommon to find that often an individual who seems to have no problems excluding others balks when a suggestion is made that would exclude that individual. Suddenly a sense of justice and fair play suddenly is aroused. This would be funny if it were not so sad.
