To OP
Just because an Apostle writes something does not mean it is by default inspired by God.
A writing needs to be "God breathed" to be from God.
Even if we found another epistle from Paul, that does not mean it is automatically inspired by God.
God writes the scriptures not man (even Apostles).
The only authority the church, (WE) has is given by God and is authority"I would not believe in the Gospel if the authority of the Catholic Church did not move me to do so." ~St. Augustine
Faulty logic.I agree. I have a reason for believing what I believe. When I ask another here he says it is because it just is.
My logic is that if I accept the Bible then I MUST accept the church that compiled it.
The only authority the church, (WE) has is given by God and is authority
over our own lives and over the snakes and scorpions and over all
the power of the enemy.
We dont have authority to lord over others.
It is recognized as such. That is how the ECF did it and that is how we do it today.
Just apply the same logic to any other area and it will become apparent.care to expound?
What about it? It doesn't negate the truth that we don't let these men "lord it over us" It's Scriptural. All of my doctrine comes only from Scripture, please feelHmm sounds alot like American individualism to me. Well what's all this about submitting to your elders then?
17Obey(A) your leaders and submit to them,(B) for they are keeping watch over your souls, as those who will have to(C) give an account.(D) Let them do this with joy and not with groaning, for that would be of no advantage to you.
Ouch!

free always to correct me but only with Scripture, as you just did.
And of course I believe this passage, obviously we submit to them as God
leads us to. It's We who choose who our teachers are, so if any man comes
to you and said you are to submit to him, better run or at least avoid any
flavored drinks offered.

Beware the faulty logic of those not to faith of Jesus, the lamb.Ouch!
The impression I got from this passage is that only God has authority over us. I did not see any mention to the elders appointed by the church, which is why i included that verse. What you mean by 'lord over others' can be interpreted in various ways.
Tells us why we should obey and submit to them, which also helps us to
Amen. It's all bout you! (sounds good?! lol)Let them do this with joy and not with groaning, for that would be of no advantage to you.
Are you? You make a claim about the ECFs and have no evidence to show that this is soAre you serious?
Just apply the same logic to any other area and it will become apparent.
I thought clarification would be superfluous, no?
