People caught having sex in public should only be arrested as a last resort, according to draft guidelines being issued to police.

Police should instead turn a blind eye to consenting adults in parks and public toilets, a senior officer said.

Deputy Chief Constable Michael Cunningham, of Lancashire Police, said in a report that previous responses had alienated the gay community.

It's cliche why we should not pass judgment on this. C'mon everybody! You know how this goes: 'It's not our job as Christians to judge non-Christians. That is God's job.' I guess if you've never had sex or seriously fooled around in public then maybe you could justify judging people who do engage in public sex acts without being a hypocrite, but Biblically it's still not our place. I share your outrage and I must ask a question. This new policy of turning a blind eye, does that go for straight couples too? Or is it just for the homosexuals?

These words may sound familiar, but it may also be asked, what does this have to do with love growing cold..
The issue here is what is usually referred to as "common decency". What it really is about, is the MOST BASIC level of care and concern for other people that prevents a person from doing things in public that are harmful, or even disturbing to others who have to share your public space.

This kind of behavior is simply indication that people have reached a point of such selfishness and such self absorbtion that they have nothing but disregard for others in their public sphere.

Well, one could petition the gov't to change their rules. If the gov't will not it perhaps it's time for individuals to deal with it? Maybe a "Neighborhood Watch" sorta group prowling the areas and if these malcontents are found deal out some vigilante justice?

Maybe time to move away from the areas that condone this kind of behavior if you've a family? Generally this kind of thing isn't widespread in a nation--always someplace better somewhere.

well, the point is, I think, that it is being made or treated as legal because some gay folks who have been offended when they were interrupted and/or arrested for in the act in a public venue....

anyone remember the gay couple year or two ago who were caught "engaging" in a public bathroom stall?? I forget whether or not they won their challenge to being arrested for that .....

Why is it that Christians expect Goats to act like sheep?

OUr churches are filled with Goats, and of course our homes, schools, governments, and businesses are operated by Goats. Small wonder that the Goats are acting like...Goats.


You cannot "train" a Goat to act like a Sheep.

If, however, a Goat BECOMES a Sheep, then what need is there to train him? Nobody trains an animal how to be what it is. It quite simply does what it is supposed to do.

You can't remove sin with politics, else Jesus didn't need to die on the cross.

1) They must be convicted that God exists
2) They must be convicted of sin.
3) They must "Repent and believe the Gospel," which is "Jesus Christ and Him Crucified."

Seems to me this would be a bit of a health issue...public bathrooms are gross enough.
Allowing it in public makes it public business. There's a line that has to be drawn between equal rights and special rights where secular law is concerned.
