  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

My mom likes to tell me when I've getting "checked out' when we are shopping together in the city, but I've never had anyone talk to me in the store actually. Maybe I look like I'm untouchable or something, my brother's claim that!

Ok maybe its just me but I don't hit on girls in the store no matter how pretty they are. I'm there to get what I need and get out and I don't even usually check to see if a cute girl is wearing a wedding ring much less hit on her.

I mean maybe I should or something but I mean what are the chances, I'd have to ask her out right then and there and the whole "Whats your name?, Ok will you go out with me." just seems to move way too fast.

Why am I suppose to hit on girls in a store?

Well I make small talk with guys and girls, but I wouldn't just do it because the woman is pretty or something. I'll probably never see her again cause its in a store . . . so why take the time?

Prefer to spend the time getting to know someone I'll see again.

When I lived in the city, there was a guy that drove this awesome yellow and black Superbee. And he took the same roads to work that I did. And he would honk and wave at me everymorning. It was cute. A couple times he would be the car next to me at a light and he say a few words to be. He saw me a couple weekends out at the race track watching the muscle cars racing. My mom and I would do and drool over the cars. He was a good driver, and his car had serious power, I loved the sound of it. *sigh*

Luther - I said get hit on - not proposed to, for Pete's sake! Don't y'all know that it makes us feel good about ourselves when a guy takes the time to smile/say hi/make a friendly comment?? Shouldn't knowing that you put a smile on a girl's face be motivation enough??
