Obviously money doesn't make the man.
But this is not to say that 'being rich' is bad.
the love of money is gross sin, not the possesion of money.
There are people who are motivated by greed and self interest and for whom money is the object of lots of their wicked deeds. And there are responsible people who work hard whom God puts in charge of a great deal of money and they manage it acordingly. Remember the rich guy who bought a tome for Jesus after the crucifixion?
