Is he right? Or does he simply not understand Catholic teaching. I’ve never heard of the Church forcing anyone to carry an unviable pregnancy. Read the article where he speaks of unviable pregnancy and let me know what you think.

Here, he is speaking of rape and incest:

Disappointed to see him attack Catholics like this, but completely unsurprised as well. Liberal Anglicans gonna liberal Anglican (even though IIRC he's not really considered "liberal" among his fellow Anglicans, which is sad thing in and of itself).

I think by virtue of being Church of England, he's more liberal than mainstream Catholicism. The OP being the example of that, but I think on the conservative-liberal scale within Anglicanism, he's on the more conservative end, his positions may have changed since then but he's on the record in the late 2000s saying he would take disciplinary action against any clergy entering same-sex unions (when it was legalized in the UK) and had further comments echoing Pope Benedict's criticism of the degradation of the concept of "rights" in public discourse.

It's such a shame because NT Wright is such an intelligent man who knows the Bible really well. sigh
