Sniper game?

Are there any good sniper games out there or games with as close to life as possible sniper elements?

The best one I can think of off the top of my head is Joint Operations but thats still a long ways from being true to life

CF is having some issues, apparently its being worked on.

Deer Hunter isnt exactly a sniper game. Do you have to take things into account like windage, elevation, timing, and distance to the target? Also, how far away can you take out a target?

There arent alot of sniper games out there :S

Operation: Flashpoint and Armed Assault got some "sniper" mission out there thats pretty close to life(you drop behinds lines and then have to sneak up to the target aswell as exfiltrate w/o being spotted). Sadly the actual "sniper rifles" are more of the point-n-click style w/ the exception of bullet drop and bullet travel.

Hmmm...it looks cool, but are there any good MODERN sniper games? WW2 is a little tired

Sniper Elite is decent, though there are some rather frustrating AI problems.

Call of Duty 4 has some cool sniping, as well as a plot-critical sequence where you snipe someone from half a mile away, having to account for wind conditions, gravity, and the Coriolis force. Of course, that's just one sequence out of the whole game.

If you have an arcade near you, they might have Silent Scope.
