Smart Phones

So I've been using a Sanyo 2700 for a couple years now and decided I needed an upgrade. I ended up getting the HTC Hero, and I use Credo Mobile. I was wondering how many devices I should expect it to replace. I was used to mobile web which I used mainly to read the local newspaper and get email, but I could never get on Blackboard and do school work, and I know they have an Android app for it. I've also found a reader that is not as easy to see as my Nook but searches faster and I carry around the Nook a lot less. I still haven't figured everything out yet. Has anyone let it replace your laptop or other devices? I'm just looking for thoughts and want to see what else my new phone can do.

The only thing mine really "replaced" was my watch. I still have a calendar on my computer I use as a schedule; I just sync it up to my phone so they both stay updated.

I have a BB Bold, and have yet to find it replaces my laptop. You can't type essays, get Wikipedia to load quickly enough, or get all of Youtube's videos (Miss You and Start Me Up on the Stones' Vevo aren't 'mobile friendly') on the phone.

I however, am addicted to the Notepad function. That has largely replaced my complusive MS Word list making.

Let it be known: I hate Blackboard with a PASSION.

I'm not a fan of it either, but it seems to be the standard everywhere. I know I'm not going to be able to do big projects for school over my phone, but at least I could check on grades or something with the app. My main thing is my school email does not load on my current phone. Actually none of my email loaded except Yahoo which I really don't use.

Tell me about it. I couldn't get the Choice & Course Scheduling Picker (I can't reveal the exact name of the website for the obvious reasons...) up on my phone to get the room number for lectures. Well, I could but all my classes looked like they were on a Monday. Absolute nonsense.

Our school has their own system for registering for classes and that sort of thing, we just use Blackboard for the specific classes.
