Small Group?

I have a question concerning a small group I lead. This is the 3rd small group I have lead and it seems it is never easy. The study we are doing is very exiting, but I am having trouble getting others exited about it. People like to come to it, but don't like to do the homework that goes with it. The homework only takes about 45 minutes a week. Any suggestions would be nice.

I'm currently also leading a small group. As a fellow small group leader, I commend you for following through with this call. I encourage you greatly to continue leading your small group!

I too, have had frustrations with people not wanting to do homework for your small group. One suggestion is you may consider having a "homework session" on the weekend, just to set aside a time for everyone to meet and work on their homework together. Or consider not doing homework, and extend the meeting time...with the first part of the meeting going over the homework.

Dear Dec19g,
You will only be effective if you are coming from a place sanctioned by Jesus.
Do you know your calling by Him?
Are you called to be a pastor, a shephard of your flock? Then there will be hearts needing to be tended and personal needs to be aware of, empathy is a must, guidance by the Holy Spirit of Jesus Christ can only bring forth fruit in this.
Are you called to be a teacher? Has Jesus Revealed to you great Spiritual Revelations of knowledge, wisdom and understanding? Is that what those in your group are needing and looking to you for? Only Jesus Christ can give to a true teacher what to say. This is one to be absolutely sure about, for the downside of teaching false doctrine is intense.
Are you a Prophet? Do you enjoy speaking His Name continually, Praising Him, Bringing forth His Word as an artesian spring bubbles forth water from deep within the earth? Only one with the Holy Spirit of Jesus Christ can bring forth His Living Waters as a Prophet.
Are you an Evangelist? Are you impelled to deliver those friends from falling in the fire, to bringing them forth from their lives of sin and evil, leading them into the path of Salvation and Righteousness? Only one who is filled with the Holy Spirit of Christ Resurrected can bring forth the Word and Spirit by which men's hearts will become convicted of their own sin and become repentant and accept the Son of God and be baptized by water and by fire. It takes a truly humble Spirit Filled soul to desire this incredible gift.
You, as a Christian, have one or more of these gifts, or are in preparation for a great work to be done by Him through you. I pray for you! May you find Jesus working a great work through you by His calling you forth as a teacher or a pastor or a prophet or an evangelist.
