Hi. Im not actualy a fan of Slayer, i just wondered if, as christians, you would take offense at what they sing about, or wether you would look past that, and judge the band based wholey on their music.

The reason i feel you might take offence to what they are saying, is they have songs with anti-christian titles, such as "God hates us all" and occasionally delve into mock satanism. (though one of the members of the band is actualy a Christian himself). So to repeat my point, would the anti-christian feel of the band stop you from listening, or would it not matter to you?

Their music, includes lyrics and their views, they are very hating toward religions. kerry king is a nut, the man will soon bury himself with his own words. Tom Araya is a liar, and they insult Jesus and say they don't really mean it.

Their not actualy satanic, they only sing about satanic things to show how hypocritical society is. The whole idea of it not being permissable to slag off god, or jesus.

Not slag off God? Kerry King has said numerous times "RELIGION IS ********" (NO MODS, I DIDN'T SWEAR, I JUST TYPED IN ASTERISKS, SO DONT BOTHER ME WITH 300 PM'S)

Also...Kerry King loved to make fun of Dave Mustaine when Dave converted to Christianity (Dave Mustaine is the frontman for Megadeth, if you didn't know that)

No you aren't and even saying some words which people just say everday, that they consider "swear words" will be hounded upon, trust me, mods will hound you over them.

Hmm, in my opinion thats an infringement of freedom of speech. Not allowing us to swear, i mean their only words. It isnt like anyones getting hurt.

yes, i am offended by slayer's lyrics. i feel bad for araya(a devout Catholic) that he feels he needs to sing those lyrics to keep his fame. megadeth is a much better band and theyre lyrics are not as harsh... plus dave mustaine is a Christian

Slayer. I was a fan many years ago, like when South of Heaven came out. Had all the old stuff; Hell Awaits, Reign in Blood. Slayer's lyrical tone then was war, death, mayhem, with occasional satanic references. Modern Slayer (since God Hates Us All) is nothing but satanic references.

I used to dig their style and sound and the way Araya used his vocal boundries but lyrically Slayer is dusgusting and juvenile.

Araya a devout Catholic? In "War at the Warfield - Slayer Live" the documentary and concert the documentarian asked some folks what they thought about Tom Araya being a Mormon. Tom himself said he is a Mormon in a Karang interview in the late 90's. Then you have Kerry King.... the guy is out there. Same documentary, check out what he says about God and organized religions of ALL walks (Christian, Muslim, Hindu, et al). Then take into fact that King writes 90% of the LYRICS that Araya sings and you think Slayer isn't anti-Christ?

Nope, Jesus has a White Metal Thrash band called Demon Hunter to take care of Slayer. DH is faster, heavier, and has lyrical content that is more on the "right side" of the Christ/anti-Christ battle.
