Wow. I ran across two mammoths right after I ventured out into the wild for the first time. My brother is playing right now and he just got held up by a thief. I've never been robbed like that, but I have had a couple assassins come after me!I'm now at 110+ hours on the same character and I still have yet to fight a mammoth or giant. I've got a couple of bounties for giants but I just don't want to fight them lol
Dragonrend (the shout to bring down dragons) is sooooo helpful, especially on Ancient dragons who refuse to land without it lol

Dragonrend! That's it. It doesn't work too well from what I'm seeing. Once you hit them with Dragonrend, they take their sweet time landing. And they can sometimes take off while still being affected. It does help tho.
Funny you should mention Slow Time. I just now watched my brother use it for the first time on a cave bear!yeah I've gotten a couple of random thieves. i've been lucky this time around that I've only gotten an assassin after me once. They usually only come after you if you're caught stealing something from someone and they don't bother calling the guards.
When I use Dragonrend, I just keep hitting them with it to make them stay on the ground. As soon as the cooldown period expires, boom, he's hit again lol
ETA: I accidentally hit a dragon in the face with the Slow Time shout (thought it was Dragonrend, forgot I'd changed it) just as it was about to blast fire in my face... so all I could do was stand there and watch as the fire came at me in slow motion but my life points drained in real time... funniest thing I've seen all day.
Yeah for a while I kept a ready supply of soul gems because I had been using Dawnbreaker, best sword ever, for quite a while. I only got rid of it recently because its damage rating is far below what I can achieve with my smithed weapons now. It has a place of honor of my shelf now.One thing I'm glad I figured out is soul gems for the recharging of weapons. I have a couple weapons that steal souls, so that's a big plus. Also, I took some time to learn alchemy so now I have a ready supply of decent potions. Problem is, I'm not really using them!
He's playing a tired old MMO instead of let you explore the wondrous world of SKYRIM??Hubby and I just got a new laptop (our Christmas present to ourselves, since our old one sort of broke in half lol) but I'll never be able to play Skyrim on it because he's comandeered it to play World of Warcraft lol so I'll be stuck playing Skryim on console 'til the end of time since I doubt he'll ever tire of WoW

Oh, the humanity!!
You think they'll do a LEGO Skyrim? But we're both playing Skyrim on console lol... though now that we've had Christmas, we're probably taking a break from that too because he got the last Assassin's Creed (finally) and I got the second LEGO Harry Potter.
LOL I love that commercial
I'm about to raid a Stormcloak camp and do some power leveling!oh that would be awesome!!
And now hubby has apparently tired of Assassin's Creed and taken over Harry Potter as well... *counting down the hours 'til he goes to work so I can play both Skyrim and Harry Potter in peace lol*
I've nearly maxed my archery and sneaking and I can tell you it is FUN to snipe from far away. Also, the perk that slows time while you're zooming with the bow is totally worth it, especially in close combat.Yeah I always do that with any Imperial camps I come across, though it's not doing me any good with power leveling because I've long since topped up my light armor and one-handed weapons. I suppose I could always do archery and sneaking
Yeah my hubby's khajihit (I just woke up, no way am I gonna look up how to actually spell that) is an archer who has all the archery perks... I haven't invested any perks in archery except the one that was located in the sneak tree (sneak attacks with bows to 3x damage).
I have a horse, specifically the one from the Dark Brotherhood, and he loves to charge in whenever there's an enemy so I can't do much sniping unless I'm in a cave, or I remember the leave the horse faaaaar away from where I'm actually going. They really should have made it so you could put your horse in a stable every once in awhile instead of it following you around for eternity
I've only made one potion but I pick every flower and plant I see (habit I picked up playing Oblivion oh so long ago lol... never made potions there either) and I catch any butterflies and other insects too. I've got this huge list of ingredients stored in one of my houses that as an Alchemy table but I never use them. I probably should

That would be epic beyond words. You think they'll do a LEGO Skyrim?
If you ever want to start Alchemy, here's your Bible!
Alchemy Immersion.
I found that a little while ago. VERY helpful! Very fine and well-designed web app.
I just made a ton of potions and I'm dashing off to sell them. One to make is Giant's Toe and Wheat. Has 800 something value!! And easy ingredients to find. Just kill a giant and harvest some wheat!
I had a horse. HAD! It was so annoying having to jump off to fight every few seconds, so I tossed him down a mountain.
