Tried to explain to my bf that movies and media that feature women with big chests and butt in skimpy clothes and treated just like sex objects basically kills my drive and makes me feel really down. I still don't completely understand why it does but I tried to talk to him about it and this is what I got.

His response was I'm sorry that you feel bad that movies and TV feature pretty woman because that's what society wants to see. That's who gets wifed.

I took that as an insult like an indirect one. It's fine they have nice hair and make up and in shape but obviously thats not what the camera is focused on its focused on their chest and butt and making crude references toward sexual acts. Yes I get that duh it's just a movie but lets get to the fact that it's everywhere! It's like you can't get away from it. To me being pretty and treated like just a piece of meat are two different things. He hasn't married me yet so is he saying I'm not good enough cause that's really how I take it.

It like my bf was indirectly saying to me that in order to be considered a pretty woman I have to look and act sleezy like they do and I don't so then does that mean he saying I'm ugly because not a super model with a huge chest and a team of make up artists to make me look 'pretty' everyday. Im sure he doesn't feel this way but how can he not see that by what he's saying he is basically implying that. If I was to look at half naked guy with the camera focused on all their assests and say to him sorry but society wants to see attractive men how is that not an insult? How do you expect me to be able to act romantic toward you when I'm internalizing that I'm not good enough based on what you are watching.

I'm definitely not a feminist, but as a woman I get sick of the constant disrespect and treatment like my value is solely based on my appearance.

That and this is a seperate issue but i'm sick of many woman acting Kim kardashian like. She has had such a negative effect on society seriously. Woman with fake everything nails, hair, chest, and fake personalities, gold digging. I have had so few female friends because its hard to find other woman who haven't been brainwashed into 'mean girls' behavior trying to fit this role.

Last thing, woman acting like sex objects extendes out to just enjoying a day hanging out with my bf. You can't go anywhere without a lot of woman being half naked shorts where their butt literally hangs out or tights worn as pants. It's irritating cause its like why don't you just prostitute yourself since your practicaly doing the same thing since you need attention from my bf and every other guy in the vicintvi that bad. It sounds over the top but think about it if a buff man walked around in a speedo flaunting himself everywhere it'd be the same thing. Advertising and it's irritating.

I realize my bf is 20 and I really hope he grows out of this attitude cause I can't stand the disrespect. And yes I know I can't change the world so this is kinda just my rant.

Sounds like going by this and past posts you need a better BF. If hes this ok with that subject now, then he will be ok with looking at "sexualized" women when married to. If I looked at a sexualized woman and was fine with it, I'd be on the couch or probably in counseling.

Men ... are designed to be aroused ... by what they see. So, you need to understand that when men see something that is appealing to them ... they get a little shot of "feel good". As a man, ... it took me a while to realize that this was what was happening.

So ... your BF is right ... we live in a world where feminine assets will be flaunted ... because it gives men a shot of "feel-good". We must accept that we live in this world.

For you, ... you should find joy that your BF feels that you give him shot(s) of "feel-good" too, ... or else, he wouldn't be "with you". Now, as men mature, they'll find that there are other things in the world which contribute to their feeling good, ... than just visible feminine assets.

For your boyfriend's part, he needs to be made to understand that it's okay to appreciate other's feminine assets, ... BUT it's not LOVING to express that in the context of his relationships. I have had to train myself to behave appropriately in public, despite what I see or not, ... to support and maintain my relationship with my wife. My wife has even told me that she appreciates that I keep my eyes on her, ... and don't linger on other sights. A man who wants to be in a successful relationship ... will have to learn this.

This will also apply to what movies/entertainment the two of you share, because he shouldn't be "feeling good" ... at the cost of you "feeling bad".

Let's face it ... in a successful relationship, ... there will come a time when we won't be able to compete with the younger folk around us. Hopefully, at this point ... my wife will be able to keep her eyes on my wrinkles ... rather than some other guy's bulging biceps ....

I don't know why you would want to marry him; these problems won't stop with marriage. If those are the type of movies he watches now and the things he values in women now; he's still going to watch them after you are married and value those things after you are married. He may change with maturity; but he may not as well.

If you are talking about porn.....he won't change unless he really really wants to (and even then it will be hard for him to stop), it's an uphill battle. If he sees no problem with it now, he will not be giving it up anytime soon. You two either need to get counseling and both be serious about it; or get out now.

BTW .... I wanted to say that your BF is wrong about at least one thing ....

Women who get wifed span the range of physical endowments. The best thing is to establish a connection which will endure the changes and challenges that come in life.

Before you marry, make sure your intended has demonstrated a enduring commitment to you ...
