  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Hey all, back from dancing! How are y'all?

<steps to the stage and grabs the upright bass. I stick my tongue out at Dluv, then slide smoothly into my signature piece, Goodbye Porkpie Hat, by the amazing Charles Mingus>
tired and in shock. How are you after dancing the night away?

Hello All! My son signed up for the Army and I'm getting over the shock, slightly. At least it is not official yet, and he won't go for at least a year. I hope you all are all doing well.

I know its probably not something you want to hear right now, but God bless him for his service to our nation.

I'm proud of him, and scared at the same time. He is in God's hands.

Both of those emotions are understandable at this point.

Does he know what he wants to do in the Army?

Hi ljorem!

My dance partner's son is in Iraq right now - I could see if she would have the time to chat with you - mom to mom.
Thanx for that. Aaron hasn't been officially accepted yet. I just have to trust God and what he wants for my son's life. It will be at least a year before he leaves for the service. Who knows what will happen between now and then. I knew this might be coming, but wasn't prepared for him to sign the papers for at least another year. Kids-can't live with them and can't live without them. :sigh:

ljorem - prayers for you and your son! I know it's a ways off, but I can relate on a different level - we all held our breaths when my brother-in-law was deployed to the Middle East until he came safely home to us again. My sister was definitely the most relieved, though!

I don't know if this makes it any easier but being a tanker is a lot safer than most the jobs in the Army. Those M1A2's are built tough. I served for 12 years and was able to drive one before I got out. The Army will take care of him if he does decide to join and will give him a great opportunity to decide what he really wants to do in life. It took me 12 years to figure that out. :)

Yeah the M1A2 is the best tank in the world by far. And given our current situation and opponents they arn't very well equipped. (They just blend with the civilian population, the cowards)

So what did you do while you were in the Army? And what did you decide you really wanted to do in life??? :)
