Single? Who Says?

Here is a thought. I got this from a book that I was reading. If we are saved then we are betrohed to Christ. We are his bride, and he loves us more than anyone ever will. So with that in mind, if you are saved, then your not really single. It's a good thought anyway.

that is a good thought. Great encouragement to people who may be feeling lonely because they don't have that someone in their lives. Thing is, we must all realize that we do have someone in our lives, God loves us more than any one person. once we've got this down, he finds us earthly someones to bring us up in him

At first I thought he was just trying to say that he didn't have anything to say, but when I highlighted the text area, there was the secret message.

I understand the sentiment addressed in this thread, but to suggest that a oneness with God is a substitute for human companionship IMO, is a bit of a stretch.

Could be God working in your heart to make you okay with being single, but I thought God created us to be with eachother. Adam could walk and talk with perfect harmony with God ib the garden of Eden, and God Himself saw that and realized that Adam needed a mate.

If you're saved, you can still be single and feel llonely, but that doesn't mean Goid isn't with you.

Maybe I got the wrong idea from the thread?

The point of the thread is just a reminder that when we feel lonely or unloved. That God is always there for us, and he is the one who truly does loves us. Jesus loved us so much that he died for us.

If we remember this then it can help ease the pain of those times when we feel lonely or unloved.

The Bible says to "Seek ye first the kingdom of God and all these things will be added unto you."

I believe if we put God first in our lives. Then if we need another person in our lives. Then he will supply us with someone.

Of course we are never alone, 'footprints in the sand'. Although I'm not comfortable thinking of myself as Christ's bride. Most men function better in marriage. There are Godly women out there. All you have to do is start hanging out where they do or go to a Christian dating service and be shrewd with your choices. There are many 30-40 something professional women who have abstained from relationships while pursuing education and careers. Many of them use reputable dating services to find suitable mates. I recommend you look there if you are ready for love.

It's because you look at this through the eyes of man. You think of yourself being a man, being the bride of a man. This thought is uncomfortable to you. However, the church is the Bride Of Christ. If you are saved you are part of the church, and therefore the Bride Of Christ.

If should be an honor that the King of Kings and Lord Of Lords would accept you as his bride.

To appreciated this you have to look at it as God looks at it, and not throught the corrupt eyes of man.

I'm very thankfull that Jesus is always there for me and when I'm lonely and need someone to talk to he listens.
But sometimes I wish I could see the person keeping me company, someone that I could hold or maybe just sit in silence with, someone who could tell me how there day was and all that kind of stuff..... Although I know that God is very present in my life I sometimes have a hard time hearing him speak to me and I wish that his presence was a little more visible.
You know what I mean?
