Single on Valentine's Day

I am happy being single for now. I believe God intends this for at least the next couple of years. But, I guess I'll just have to wait and see. Perhaps He has a special surprise waiting for me along the way.

Anyhow, just rememeber that God has a plan for each and every one of us. He created one mate for Adam and one mate for Eve; and it is no different nowadays than it was then.** God is in control.

Considering not many people are signing their name to the list, I don't think the original question really needed to be asked considering where we are posting - the Singles Ministry.... nor does there really need to be a specific thread about being single on Valentine's Day.

But that's just my thinking.

Single here too. I was okay with being single, up until a week ago when I had an amazing date. Now I'm feeling a little alone. I know what I need, a spiritual renewal with the lord, i just can't seem to find it right now for some reason.

I'm single on this S.A.D. day for the first time in probly 6 years. and without a girlfriend for the first time for over a year! WHOO HOO!!! Bring on the sorrow and self pitty and a big ole container of Strawberry Ice cream.

Sometimes it can be hard. Many, many people are getting engaged at my college and I want that.

But I'm still young. There are things I want to do for Him. There are ways that I need to grow yet. So I'm glad that I'm single at this moment.

Wait a sec, I may resemble that remark... you know, you're really not that old at all, in fact, a man in our church got remarried at 50... you know, we must be young!

(well, at least compared to most geological features. :^) )

(dates are what my mom makes Christmas cookies out of - beyond that, I don't remember.)

An awesome thought but there's a problem. Many singles wish to dwell on loneliness and longing and coveting having a mate. They let all that darkness be a big part of their lives and it does them no good. They think selfishly and it's a big, tall barrier set up with God on the other side. I'll say it 17 million MORE times - people've gotta be content with being single. It is so simple. We're not perfect, well, maybe me more than most (j/k) but we all can get down from time to time but man, the only thing that must be done when that happens is we've gotta turn to God to get the hell out of that funk. Nothing good will come from living in the darkness that is lonely sadness. Live in the shining light of God and be a shining example of what a single person should be. Be content being single, enrich your life, enjoy what singleness has to offer and grow in Christ. That simply cannot happen when you murmur about the position you're in. SO ANYONE IN A FUNK I WILL SAY AGAIN - SNAP PUT OF IT! K? Are we clear? Can I get a, "Yes, sir, Chris. Right away, funk's all gone, only funk now is a good funk, gonna get down but this down's not gonna be a sad down it's only gonna be a funky gettin' down, AMEN!" Have a nice day being single now, ya hear!?

being single allowed me to have a 'date' with my roommate! We got a heart-shaped pizza and heart-shaped garlic bread from Papa Murphey's and ate it while watching Cinderalla and eating chocolate. Good times
