Singing seems to trigger my asthma...any solutions?

Basically every time I sing my chest becomes very tight, as though I'm about to have an asthma attack. I've also found that it is a trigger sometimes for my asthma.

Does anyone know why this is happening? And what I can do to stop it?

Same thing happens to me ALL the time. When I was in choir grades 6-12 it happenid preety much every time we sang songs that were bigger in sound. My choir teachers told me to drink PLENTY of water and incoureged me all the time to walk to the water fountan and get water, or if I fell like asthma is going to be a problem dont sing.

Do you have allergies, if so are they under control?

its a common problem when you breath from your chest when your singing. i recommend practicing breathing with your stomach, it'll help with your range too
