CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

hi brothers and sisters, just wanna let you know that Festival of Praise is ON this yr! It's from 5 to 7 August 05 at the Indoor Stadium. Delirous? and Hillsong will take the praise and worship! It's gonna be awesome!

A singaporean told me about Hillsongs and they're pretty good. Many people are attracted to it. Correct me if I hear wrongly. The message they preach and believe is that we should all strive for prosperity for it is the blessings of God. What then is there left for those in poverty?
BTW, I'm next to singapore. Once worked and lived in singapore. Grandparents lived there, and also my relatives.

Ahh. I see... At least you came out trying to understand them. No, they do not go around preaching seeking God's riches. We are blessed, we are rich, we are healthy, we have all that we can ask for if we only believe and have faith in our righteous standing with God, because we are His children, it is our blood-bought right. That's what they're pushing. And I totally agree...

hi, i know many are aware bout their (Hillsong) prosperity teaching...some may not agree...but i feel many misunderstand what they are trying to say...they never say that those who live in poverty are not blessed/loved by God...they believe that as ppl of the Kingdom, it is God's will for His ppl to have prosperity so that His work can be done better(in terms of reaching out to the lost, cos everything in this world we need money!!)...they are not money only minded! in fact if you know more about the church, they are helping a lot of poor ppl in africa(it proves that they are doing something rather than just talking the talk)...one must understand that they never condemn the poor...i believe prosperity is one of God's promises to us as Christians...but sadly some Christians feel its evil to be prosperous...anyway, i dun condemn them, they have their right to believe in what they want to believe...God is good! He gives His ppl choice to believe or not to believe...so yeah just want to clarify some thing here....God bless!precious stone said:

Well, I do believe God will bless all His children, but will all be prosperous? I do feel that at times we may not be rich, but that doesn't mean God is away from us. Instead, we should trust in God's bigger plan, He has a bigger plan for us. Job was afflicted with disease and he lost everything, does that mean that he ain't faithful, or that God doesn't care about him? Well, no!!! In all circumstances, we should trust in God's promises that He'll do good for all those who love it. In matthew 24, it is already written that Christians will face trials, and throughout the bible, the apostles have already warned us that we'll suffer as Christians. So, we've just gotta trust that God will see us thru' whatever circumstance we're in. Christianity isn't a bed of roses, there r tuff times when we fall and suffer, but we've gotta realise that God is gracious and wise, and as long as we're abiding in Him, we shld have no fear at all, for all things work for the greater glory of our Father!!!I don't buy the thing abt seeking riches and prsoperity, I know that as a Christian I've gotta be willing to suffer, but God will give me all it takes to get thru' the tuff times. And at the end of it all, His name will be glorified!

Read on about Job. Look at how much Job was restored to! It was given back to him not of equal measure but of greater quantity and greater quality!
Christian prosperity does not speak of material wealth alone. It speaks of being full and whole in our bodies, good and wholesome relationships. For Christ's sake we will suffer persecution from unbelievers but it does not mean God has already an answer for it all. For He is our sufficiency, for in and of ourselves, we will lack.
Prosperity does not mean you will have immense riches. But however one will not find himself in lack of anything. It will be given to you according to your faith.
I say, everyone who is in Christ, is able to receive prosperity, through and through. I have no doubt about that.
