  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I love it, I own it on DVD and I will enjoy watching it for years to come.
"Horrifyingly violent and deeply disturbing"? What's the big deal? I didn't think it was all that violent or disturbing. Oh, and I agree. No "Christian" would support this movie. But as far as I'm concerned a Christian wouldn't care, as there is just as much, if not more, violent and disturbing content in the Bible.

One of the most original concepts for a movie ever. A slightly ramped up to the max film-noir that's darkly funny as well as ridiculously violent!

Thought it was fantastic but wouldn't watch it with mother.

I loved it. :D I'll see it again and again and again. Why are so many people here saying "I loved it, but I'll never watch it again!"? If you loved it, you enjoyed it! You're not going to watch it again because the contents don't bring your closer to god and/or it's too much of a guilty pleasure? Get over it and enjoy the movie. Jeez.

It's possible for a movie to be a great movie and also make you never want to watch it again. Apparently you don't get this concept. That's fine; not everyone thinks alike, after all.

To give you some examples of movies that, for me, were great movies that I'll never watch again:

Sin City - I can only deal with so much violence in a two-hour span. That, and when the bad guy was all threatening to rape and torture that little 11-year-old girl: a bit much for me. But still a great movie, artistically.

Schindler's List - A masterpiece in filmmaking, but by the time it was over I was so emotionally drained it was three or four days before I could enjoy anything again.

Alive - About the rugby team whose plane crashed in the mountains and they had to eat the dead bodies. Great movie, but it was way too disturbing to want to watch again.

It was a good movie, but I don't want to allow myself to be continuously entertained by darkness, extreme violence, and evil. Not saying the movie is evil. Just saying that the evil in the movie disturbed me (yea I know cannibalizing women and watching a guy get chopped up and eaten alive bothers me....must mean I'm weird)

*sighs* How can you people stand to sit there and do that? You say you loved the movie, then turn around and decry it for being violent, disturbing, and evil. If it's such a sinful, horrible movie, then why did you freaking watch it in the first place?

I really liked it (though had to wait until DVD to see it). I thought Elijah Wood and Mickey Roarke were really cool. I'd like to be the unstoppable warrior that Roarke's character was - perhaps in the realm of truth (2 Cor. 10:3-5).

One of my favorite actresses is Jessica Alba (from since her Dark Angel days). So I had to see this one, even though I had to wait for the smaller screen.

If you'll re-read what I said, I specifically said it's not that the movie is evil, but the evil exhibited by those in the movie was disturbing. It was a good movie in that the plot was good, the acting was good, and the style in which it was filmed is really amazing. I'm disturbed by the evil in Schindler's List when I watch it too, and for that reason, I will never watch it again, but its still a good movie.
