No one engaged in warfare entangles himself with the affairs of this life, that he may please him who enlisted him as a soldier ( 2 Timothy 2:4)
Detachment, Disentanglement, Simplicity; are there any sweeter words? Come to those fortresses and all the powers of hell will no longer be able to move you. You will enter the world of the divine. When you no longer need anything from the world you can no longer be destroyed by the world. You will have disarmed it of all of its weapons at the cross. See Colossians 2:15. Where self-seeking ends Peace begins.
These words were on my heart this morning. I hope they will be a blessing to you. There is a pure love for God and the things of God in a heart like that. To me they are the mark of the overcomer mentioned in Revelation chapter 2 and 3. God seems to have a special place for His Simple ones. His overcoming ones. There is freedom there. There is life. There is nothing that so quickly frees us of the tyranny of self, the clutches of evil, and the seduction of this world than the simplicity of Loving God with all of our heart and living purely for what is for Him.
