  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Mothers Day Prayer

Father, in the incredibly sweet name of Jesus, I thank You once again for the awesome privilege of prayer. Today, especially, I thank You for the privilege of praying for Mothers.

All of us who have the blessing of a mother who loves us are truly blessed, because there is no human love greater than the love of a mother. But those of us who have a Godly Christian mother are most blessed of all. I thank You, Father for all the prayers of a Christian Mother, You have honored. There is no way for us to truly know or measure the impact of those prayers on our lives.

Our mothers carried us in her womb in love. She gladly suffered the pain of childbirth to deliver us in love. She cared for us, provided for us, and nurtured us as children, in love. In sacrificial love she stayed up late, her sleep interrupted in the night, and rose up early, caring for us, in love.

She has always been our best friend, and stood by us and supported us through trials tribulations, disappointments and heartaches. She has always been there to wipe away our tears.

But the greatest thing she ever did was to take us to Church and to teach us about You, and about the awesome love of Jesus, our Saviour. In Your Love letter, Father, You have said in Proverbs 31, in speaking of the virtuous woman, that her children rise up and call her blessed. And so on this Mother’s Day, we rise up and Bless our Mothers and we honor them. But Father, stir our hearts so that this is not the only day we honor our Mothers. For as long as they live, may every day be Mother’s Day in our hearts, and in our actions.

Bless them, Father with the sleep and rest they so willingly gave up for us. Bless them with the food, clothing, and shelter, they provided for us. Bless them with the personal attention they always gave us. Bless them with all the love they gave us and more. Bless them in their old age, Father. May they always know the joy of friends and relatives that love and cherish them till the day they leave us for a while.

Father, the day you call them home, Bless them with loved ones to see them off, and welcome them Home with the awesome choir of Heaven rejoicing and singing in sweetness unspeakable. May they be greeted at the gates by no less than our Saviour’s loving arms saying, “Welcome Home, thou good and faithful servant. Enter into the joy of your Lord.

Father, in the Sweet Name above all Names, the Name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, we thank You for our Mothers, and thier prayers that prayed many right into Heaven, and we give You all praise and glory and honor, for this most precious gift. Amen
