  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Agaetis Byrjun is my favorite album of theirs to date. () seemed a tad -- and by tad, I mean completely -- pretentious. I think I'm in the same boat as Jordan on this new one, hestitantly looking forward to it.

That said, I know I am going to hear the new record alot when it comes out as my roommate is a huge Sigur Ros fan. I'm considering going to see them in Boston later this year, but tickets are pretty expensive, so I'm not sure yet.

I never did buy "()", but I was considering picking it up next weekend. Is it not worth the purchase?

I have such good memories walking around campus in January listening to (primarily) "Svefn-G-Englar" and "Staralfur" on my iPod. It's very good winter music. :)

The first half of ( ) is amazing, for my money. "Njosnavelin" and "Samskeyti" are two of my favorite Sigur Ros tracks
I bought () on a whim and I listened to it straight through. I may have enjoyed the first few tracks, but I was so bored by the end of the album that I never really gave it another chance. It just sort of sits on my shelf right now collecting dust; I may get it out and give the beginning a listen again.

Hm, I'd better check out Agaetis Byrjun, since I love ( ). The last two numbers of that one are the most exciting of all for me.

It's going to be hard for me not to get worked up enough for the new record that my heart won't come crashing down when I finally hear it. With sigur ros going to emi, I wouldn't be all too surprised if it sounded a bit "sellout"ish, as bands sometimes do when switching to a new label.
