Last Sabbath was one of the best I've ever attended thanks to Australian Pastor Geoff Youlden. He is on a short tour around Christchurch, holding seminars on the Signs of the Times. The sermon he gave was to the point and not some mild talk about the End Times blah blah. No this was very well spoken and it hammered the message home! I have become much more attuned as an Adventists after hearing something of the calibur Mr. Youldon had delivered.
Geoff talked about the world powers. In particular the USA. 50 to 100 years ago the USA wasn't so thought of as the biggest superpower. Infact not many gave them a second thought until after WWII. Anyone studying Revelation will know the US plays a big part. The Signs of Christ's Second Coming couldn't be more evident! The recent hurricane devistation and earlier the tsunami are just a couple of examples. Throughout history there have been devistating diseases, floods, earthquakes and storms. God is not doing all this because he feels like it. When you think of the extent in which Satan has thrown his influence around the world, and that we are now in the End Times, it shouldn't be a surprise we are getting more and more major disasters happening closer together.
That all said, what should we do about it? We can start by teaching our unbelieving brethren and sisters the gospal truth about our Lord Jesus Christ. and keeping eachother reminded of the message God wants us all to hear.
Rev 19:11-16
11I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True. With justice he judges and makes war. 12His eyes are like blazing fire, and on his head are many crowns. He has a name written on him that no one knows but he himself. 13He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood, and his name is the Word of God. 14The armies of heaven were following him, riding on white horses and dressed in fine linen, white and clean. 15Out of his mouth comes a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations. "He will rule them with an iron scepter."[a] He treads the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God Almighty. 16On his robe and on his thigh he has this name written:
KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.
