Sigh... Time to vent

I spent 3 hours preparing a lesson for today, I came to work and had 7 and a half hours before the class. I've been in the office and around my boss all day. I talked to her several times during the day. I go into the classroom to teach the lesson for my class only to have my boss walk in just after the bell rings and tell me that my lesson I had prepared should be delayed until next week and that I need to teach a completely different topic instead today. She gave me the topic right as the class was starting. So I then had about 10 seconds to make up a 45 minute lesson plan.... The thing that really gets me is that I had 5 hours of prep time today because classes were canceled due to exams. Yet she waited for the last second to tell me.

I wish other people would understand that our time is valuable too and to give us a 'heads up' beforehand, if it's not what their looking for!

Well, just think!! Now you know, you can come up with a 45 minute lesson plan, in 10 seconds now!!

The other lesson went ok, I managed to fill all the time, but it was a bit boring for the kids since I had no materials at all to work with. Some of them let me know it was not as exciting as they were used to, and I promised them a better lesson next week. They were happy that they didn't get homework though as everything I planned for their homework could only have been given if I had taught the lesson I had originally planned.

I would have said that you would love to have done another lesson plan but there was simply no time to make one. But perhaps if she had one already done up, I would consider teaching that.

Or just gone bok choy on her butt.

Living in Korea as I have for more than 3 years now, I am kinda used to it. This kind of thing happens often unfortunately. It seems that they often don't think it important to inform you of things until the last second. My favourite one ever was when I got informed of a meeting across town I was supposed to be at about 2 minutes before it started.

lots of both! Can't give you exact numbers - but people were friendly, I remember that.

Well the official word is that there is not enough girls for guys so Korean men really don't like seeing non-Koreans with Korean girls. But Korean girls seem to really like foreign guys. I know a few that take advantage of that.
