Many ppl think Nancy was human garbage and a useless, user drug addict. But i just read a book by her mom and Nancy was a deeply troubled person from birth! She had the cord wrapped around her neck at birth and had a blood disease. She would cry constantly as an infant and displayed very serious, VERY SERIOUS, behavioral problems from infancy. Many called her nauseating Nancy, including Johnny Lydon.

Sid, i heard was actually a nice guy!! Lol. He just got caught up in the image and with drug probs.

After finishing the book, i looked at Nancy very differently. I think she was severely mentally ill! I do not think she had much control over her behavior. I hope she is w Jesus. My heart goes out to anyone w mental probs. Very good book you can get at openlibrary.org

Hers is a sad story for sure. The movie ("Sid and Nancy") that came out in the 80s was pretty difficult to watch. I'm sure the accuracy of the movie is questionable, but it does give one an idea of what that type of life may have been like. It's sad that so many people with mental disorders "slip through the cracks" and never get the help they need.

Yes Mark, she had the best care, facilities and drs, yet Nancy did slip through the cracks! Truthfully, she was iimpossible to help. Maybe if she was able to age? I wonder how Jesus would view her? Compassionately? I wonder...

That book. Its rare i need to take a break from a book! Lol...i understand mental illness as well. But how the public view nancy and her true illness are two dif things.

God bless
