What of it? Is there any substantial evidence to suggest it could be the actual burial cloth of Christ, and what is the Church's stance?

I don't think you have to believe it is authentic or inauthentic as far as the Church is concerned, though I may be wrong. I would like to learn more about the Shroud; I just never get around to it. Thanks for the reminder.

I think we had a thread about it not too long ago. But I know that I look to the Sudarium of Ovieto (the known "sister cloth" of the Shroud and which has a better historical trail of authenticity than the Shroud) to help me determine whether the Shroud is authentic or not. (I think I gave the link in that thread.)
