  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

At Church, I find that many Christian teens are always asking about how they can convince their friends that Jesus is the right answer for them. When I try to help them, I tell them that personal actions without speaking can be one of the most effective ways of reaching out to a lost person. I tell them that by their actions, people will see the fire that is burning inside and begin to get curious. In the many years I have gone to Church and sat through countless sermons and classes, I have found that approaching people and asking about Jesus can alot of the times seem desperate or too involved, and will not feel comfortable talking to you thinking you are just doing a job and not really trying to help. I tell them that there are many ways to make Jesus more apparent in them by not even saying a word! This is what catches their attention, and they ask me to clarify. I tell them that people often judge you by your actions, not your words; let them see the Jesus inside of you, and always pray positively for them. If they see good things in you, curiousity will build and to the point where they just have to ask you why you are such a good person.

A verbal approach is not always the easiest way to reach out. If somebody sees that you are always laughing and smiling, helping people, being polite, and not bullying they will see the star that shines in your eye and feel curious and sometimes jealous, and just might be willing to accept Jesus into his/her own heart.

As Christians our main mission is to reach out and find lost people and tell them the good news about Jesus. Even if it takes months or years to convince somebody, you should never give up, NEVER.

Be a Fisherman for Jesus! Woohoo!

Thank you for posting this. We should always be reminded that people watch and form opinions way before they ask or talk to you. I am a perfect example of how I was brought to the Lord by one person doing exactly what you said in your post. His life made me want and desire it. That is when I began to ask the questions and then things began to roll from there. I thank God for placing this person in my life because if it wasn't for my friends complete understanding of what it means to have a relationship with God then I wouldn't be a believer today.

God Bless you~

Some things are better left unsaid. And that the Lord wants us to think about them. Before we say them aloud. And to make sure they are the right words that match our attitudes and hearts.

Good post. :) It must be a balance words/deeds. Galatians 5:22-23 says, how to know a person is a christian, is by the "fruits of the spirit". A person should be able to judge by seeing those 9 character traits are there. :)

Thanks for pointing this out. As loyal Christians we have to adjust to what people like more in you. This can be tough, and you might have to read the person, but it makes the job more easier. Do not be fake, however, because that person can read you too. If they see you doing good deeds, and being spirit-filled, and then after school they see you throw one of your friends a jokely finger, chances are they will never trust the Christian side of you again (you might want to put your "Christian" side in check, also :sorry: ). Keep in mind that we are always being watched, ALWAYS. Be a true servant of the Lord God, and reach out.

Also on a side note: If the person you are talking to has different beliefs, whether it be Evolution or anything, never tell them they are wrong. As loyal as a Christian you can be, you should never tell the person that there IS a God, because we really don't know the absolute truth, just strongly believe. Keep this is mind.

God Bless!

Nick
