who else loves this song? i had heard it once before, but yesterday in youth group they played it and it was just so powerful. it brought tears to my eyes. the chorus is so rousing, when it starts with 'Shout to the Lord!' last night was the most emotional i have even gotten over a worsship song, and i'm always in tears. you felt power in that room and God's prescence was THERE, you could feel it in our voices! so, lets talk about how AWESOME this song is.

Yah, its a pretty awesome song. I especially like the last line of the chorus. "Nothing compares to the promise I have" we play this chord progression alot and we've come up with some pretty cool free praise choruses to go with it. Some examples: Nothing or no one compares to you, I wanna be, wanna be with you. I totally agree that it's a powerful song despite the fact that its been around awhile.

AMEN! I love it when God uses his worship leaders to move and touch our hearts.

GOD IS AWESOME!!! Let's not ever stop to talk about that. He is a most wonderful loving God. I can't understand how he can love sinners like us.

A classic... Lotsa ppls confuse this with Shout to the North, but still an AEWSOME song. I wanna cry everytime i sing this.. not sure why but i do. LOL

Personally I like a slightly more upbeat tempo but that still rocks.

This is the song that got me into 'Worship' music. I first heard Mark Schultz's version on the radio; the reception wasn't that good, so much so that it was quite distorted and sounded like a grunge version..unlike a lot of the pop-influenced material out there. I was a bit disappointed to buy the original undistorted version on CD but it has grown on me immensely and I still believe it to be one of the most moving worship songs I have heard.
