Okay - apparently I am having trouble understanding the point you are trying to make. Let's make this simple. Are you trying to say (choose one)Neverstop said:My goodness...can the goal posts be shifted any further?
You can not trust in others to rule you. We can not trust in the 'International' will. There is one thing that you can always trust in (besides God): yourself.burrow_owl said:We should keep the military and stop using it stupidly and carelessly.
Neverstop said:How could Christians exist pre-Easter? The fact is they didn't....

1. The government should not start wars because there are quotes in the Bible that speak against it.
2. Christians that support the government starting wars are hypocrites.
3. other - please explain?

Your argument is ridiculous... sorry.

The world would fall apart.
We are blamed for every problem, but without our presence the world would be back to the border squirmises that they had in colonial times.
Our border would stay fairly safe, because of the second amendment, and if any challenged anything more then a
quick attack, would have our guard coming in.
Pulling our military back into our borders would cause as much problems, and would set up for WWIII.
Can you say isolationism.
Disbanding or even pulling our military back inside our borders would be abandoning our allies, and would aid their enemies.
We can not be a Swiss military. We are implanted in too many countries and ensure stability in the whole world.
Disbanding would drop the world into havoc.[/quote]
This sounds like alot of the propaganda I hear from CNN. The world does not depend on the US, the US just likes to say that to thier taxpayers to justify spending all thier money.
If the US collapsed tommorow it would affect the world financially then the world would shrug it off and keep going. It has happened to other superpowers all throughout history, it just happens to be the US at this point of time.
And as for ensuring stability in the world, have you seen what is happening because of the US? If the US government stayed out of countries there would be MORE stability. Look at Iraq, they are not democratic like Bush said it would be, and yes they had problems but it was with thier own neighbors... now we see plenty of US soldiers coming home in boxes. The countries that were being abused by Iraq would have fought it out themselves eventually.
If the US is fixing everything so sweetly, why do they not go to countries that don't have OIL or a STRATEGIC LOCATION to another country (that has oil)? One of the main reasons that the US NEEDS to hang on to it's military is because of all the countries that are very unhappy with it right now. The US is making enemies by implanting themselves everywhere, and now they are trapped in a vicious circle they created themselves.
The Swiss probably don't need to be over-militarized because they aren't at odds with other countries. I've never seen anything on the news about them fighting and invading others.
