Greetings fellow writers, recently I have published my first non-fiction book, Bunk 47. Now I have three books I would like to write, two are non-fiction Christian books, and one is Fiction, an epic tale... that I would love to tell. Part of me thinks my time is wasted on fictional tales, when I can produce books that may help people instead. So I sit on the edge of three projects, wondering which way I shall go....

I cannot speak to what you should or should not do. I remember at about 12-16 (63 now) where ooh everything was JESUS JESUS.. but I kept getting these nice peaceful thoughts "what about the Father". See its just one way I knew I was called then through someone else that never new me and 3 confirmations. Well everything.. everything I do say think has to be about Him.

Yet just reading His book all the stories.. some times we don't see Him it at all. Christ said about Moshe Moses "He wrote about me". How man heard that and said "He did?" haha. I did haha.

This part take with a grain of salt since it is not written. A preacher said Jesus shows up in his house and the man feels shame because of the magazines on his table. Christ pick ups one National Geo and skims through so fast says "no life in it". I always liked that. There is so much in this life that is not against Him its not for him like Music. Yet in Heaven all creation sing to Him.. its always about HIm. I just watch Alice Cooper talk about his life his love for Jesus Christ and his music today. Some songs I think no way are those for Christ yet.. you hear him talk about the songs and he tells you what it means and.. wow praise GOD so cool.

For me its like this.. when I prayed asked him about the woman I should marry He said "what do you want"? Haha..well I could have just posted what do you want to do? This here is just my personal view NOT His. Me? ooh I LOVE Space and books stories about it. What is IN YOU will always shine in some way or another.

CS Lewis wrote fiction and non-fiction. The Narnia Chronicles were based on the Christian ethos, with Aslan the Lion as the allegorical Christ.

There were "The Screwtape Letters", "The Great Divorce" and the SF trilogy with Dr. Ransom as the main character based on Lewis himself.

Then there were his numerous non-fiction apologetic writings.

Both streams, creative and intellectual, were effective.

Your decision about fiction writing will depend on how well you think you can carry it off, and only you can answer that.

Hey fellow writer. I'm a retired engineer/writer and since I retired 5 years ago, I too have published a few books which are on Amazon and Barnes and Nobel, two non-fiction (one is Christian and the other is policial and anonymous), and one is Christian fiction. I'd be curious to know where your books are published so that I may check them out.

I've been working on a non-fiction project for about two years and am about 90% complete, which is why I joined Christian Forums. I hoped to receive feedback on some of the topics for my project. My current project is to create an accordian-folded Bible Timeline Chart that one may place in their Bible as a ready reference to know when reading one of the books in the Bible, where it lies chronologically from Genesis to Revelation. As I'm sure you know, the Bible is not written entirely in chronological order. For example, the book of Ruth was written in between the first two judges, and the prophets (major and minor) were written at various points in history, primarily during the times of the judges and the kings. The toughest book I've come across to determine the most accurate timeline of events for is the book of Revelation. My view on the rapture is pre-Wrath, therefore its order of events is based on this view. However, I wanted to receive feedback from others on why they have their various views: pre-Trib, mid-Trib, pre-Wrath, so that I could add notations to the events to support their views. I created a Blog last week entitled the same. I received an email that my blog was approved, but don't see it listed under the available blogs as yet. Not sure how long it takes following approval to be posted. I just joined Christian Forums last week, so I'm new to this type of messaging platform. Looks like you've been a member for some time. Any advice going forward? Thank you. God Bless.

Bunk 47 is my memoir, but I am not permitted to promote it on these forums... but it is easily discovered

I think your Bible chart is a great idea, I'd like to see it. I am new here as well, and yes the blogs take some time to get published, and if you have links to books and such, it will probably get denied. FYI
