Jesus said that we are to go into all of the world and to make disciples of him of all nations, baptizing and teaching them to obey all that he has commanded us (See Matthew 28:18-20). He said that when the Spirit of God comes upon us, whom we receive when we believe in Jesus Christ as Lord and as Savior, we will be his witnesses throughout the world (See Acts 1:8). And he said that we are the light of the world; a city on a hill that cannot be hidden. We are, thus, to let our light shine before others, so that they may see our good deeds and glorify our Father in heaven (See Matthew 5:14-16). As well, we read in Romans 10:14-15 (NIV):

“How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can anyone preach unless they are sent? As it is written: ‘How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!’”

None of us should be negligent in sharing the full gospel of Jesus Christ with others, for it speaks to them the words of life. Jesus said that if anyone would come after him, he must deny himself (his self-life), take up his cross daily (die daily to sin and to self), and follow (obey) him. He said that if we hold on to our old lives of living in sin and for self that we will lose them for eternity, but if we die to sin and to self, we will gain eternal life (Luke 9:23-26). This is what we are to teach, calling others to turn from their sin, and to walk by faith in Jesus Christ their Lord.

Should I Not Preach Jesus

An Original Work / July 4, 2013
Based off 1 Corinthians 9:16-10:13

Woe to me should I not preach Jesus.
I’m compelled to preach the full gospel.
I make myself a slave to ev’ryone
To win their hearts to Christ.
All this I do for my Lord Jesus,
And for the sake of His Name;
Do it for the sake of His gospel,
So that I, its blessings gain.

Scripture notates the sins of others;
Written down for us as examples
To keep us from setting our hearts
On evil as did those of old.
Do not worship other gods of man;
Do not give your hearts to them;
Not partake in immorality.
Do not test your Lord and King.

So, be careful if you think you are
Standing firm in your faith in Jesus.
God has given his word to warn us,
So through faith we will not fall.
No temptation has o’ertaken you
Except what is commonplace.
God is faithful to not let you be
Tempted past what you can bear.
He gives the way of escape.

God has said since the Garden not to put our will ahead of His. We are too selfish to control using our own. Jesus did what was required of Him but He said He came to share the goods news of the Kingdom and to do His part in bringing it about. That good news of God coming to take authourity away from man is often overlooked because people want it both ways, salvation and not being seen as outcasts in this world built on selfishness.. We like our authourity over each other and this is our downfall.

It is a gift for some people to give out the Bible when it is recieved well.

I am thinking though-there are some people it seems could benefit from cards of certain prayers. In the real world I can mingle with the homeless at times. One man told me he remembers the Our Father pray the only one he said from childhood. He said it but became short of words and couldn't remember the rest. I went to my phone to find the pray for him and we both said it together. Now he would benefit perhaps from this prayer to carry along with him and other stories have been quite similar.

I am thinking of just buying some printed Our Fathers for them, Looked on Amazon but couldn't find anything though.

I did a search on Amazon.com I came across Lord's Prayer bookmarks at Amazon.com (I don't know where you are, but I saw a post of yours with the American spelling of "behavior", so I'm assuming you are in the USA. Anyway, I expect they are available elsewhere, too).

Thank you for the help David Lamb. I am in the UK, I was born in the UK and have lived in the UK all my life. I use Word to edit sometimes and that can change my spelling at times for some reason. I think it may have been that. I can though purchase things from Amazon in the US so will give that a look and have an account as well. Cannot wait to look on Amazon next.

I have searched this and seen that things are quite marked up in the UK and for smaller bundles. I have ordered a pack from the US and likely may be back to get some more.

Greetings Rachel,
Indeed some among our mission teams in Europe have also been able to obtain these items through online shops, in addition to Amazon there seem to be sellers on sites like Etsy and especially Temu who sell printed prayer cards and bookmarks of this fashion. apparently even Shein and Poshmark that are usually fashion sites seem branching out to sell printed items though I don't know as much about. We were a bit skeptical of the quality and shipping at first, but to our pleasant surprise Temu especially has been a very good provider of these items, and overall the most affordable offers and reasonable quality. The shipping can be a bit slower but even that's been fairly good and reliable of late.

We've even been able to order Bibles in multiple languages, hymnals, Bible study supplies, Sunday school lessons, church coloring books, New Testament verse audiobooks and tapes, software on Gospel lessons, Biblical-themed notebooks and other supplies from Temu and the other suppliers. It's always important to keep an open mind in mission work not only for our ministry budgets, also just being resourceful and wise. Like we've written before ever since St. Paul's mission efforts our missionaries have been early adopters of new technologies and platforms innovators in communications. We are simply following in those footsteps.

inhocigno, thank you, noted as well. You was only getting bundles of 15 I was seeing in the UK or less. It was very good from the US.
I wish you the best with what you are doing.

i can perceive the Bookmarks as a good opener. Like just approach someone and say a bit of the prayer and ask them if they know it and can they say it it. Based on their answer you may gave them a card or not and ask them if they would like one also indeed like on the road and advise them to use it.

Why complicate it, keep it simple like God has planed. You do not need to give out a Bible. Giving out The Gospel of John is the perfect way to evangelize unbelievers and is the only book needed.

Plus saying The Lord's prayer saves no one.

Nobody can say how the Lord can work. These people already are Christians. God will hear them if they pray it and it may lead to somewhere for them to build on. It is not my intention to save them just by giving them buy them giving them a prayer but to be perhaps at best part of a chain. It is where it may lead to. It seemed like what was at their level right now. You do not know what may be in their heart sand what it may trigger for them. God will hear them if they pray to him and if they believe it in their hearts and God sees this God can move mountains for them. Another example it may lead some to attend a church again who knows having it refreshed in the spirit as well. I wish them nothing but the best for them all. Jesus as well told us as Christians this is a good way to pray to God our Father. Please see Matthew 6 and vain repetitions in the King James version are the long winded prayers etc. This is a pure example of how we can pray as Christians. I found this hard to read.

Sorry for my mistake. I did try looking at your profile, but couldn't find any indication of where you are. I know it's too late for you as you have ordered from the USA, but in case anyone else needs them, Lord's Prayer cards are available from Amazon UK, at: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Pack-20-Pr...7962365&sprefix=Lord's+prayer+,aps,169&sr=8-6

Thank you David Lamb for your extended kindess as well. I bought the one you linked to previously straight away like your hands had guided me there and took full advantage. You know those cards are good to, a pack of 20 instead of 25 and different pattern but may be good if there is a next time as well. Thank you and stay blessed.

So I took it to the road today the bookmarks that David Lamb kindly pointed out to me.
It was very simple. I asked them if they were a Christian in their own words, the person today said yes. I asked them do you know the Lord's Prayer and then again said yes. I then reached for my phone and told them I would be recording and they had no idssent. I told them I wouldn't capture our faces. I then told them sometimes you may forget the Lord's Prayer and on the road if you offered you a card would like one. I showed them and they said yes and I gave it to them and I said if you pray God does hear prayers.
What happens past this is of course nothing to do with me, but you only have best of intentions for all the 3 I gave it to today. This was to rough sleepers.

I have read of stories of rough sleepers you ended up transforming their lives. I can be a tiny bit helpful it would be good enough for me, and if not I know I tried to do what I felt was best given their own needs on the road.
I uploaded it to my faith Youtube channel and unlisted it just for here.

Is this whole thread more focused on self or on others? When we sow seeds, should we be thinking about what is in it for us at the same time? Do we give freely or do we expect some sort of 'reward' for our efforts?

I myself only linked to the video because of a reply that I recieved like what is the point of giving out the Lord's Prayer. I found it baffling.
I been with people on the street previously and said that prayer didn't upload it and if I did it was to move it along where it ended up after directed to bookmarks.
We just need to have the best of intentions when do anything for God. I was directed by a homeless man himself who couldn't recall this prayer as he said himself he knew it. Even if you give a link in sincerity it is always enough. I like to do my things privately really my tithes I give anonymous and I like that as well. There is a time to share and a time not. I wanted to show as well how smoothly it went and that was 1/3 and I just showed the first of how many.I was also focusing on Christians so it is unlikely to be challenging.

Good questions, Timothy. Even though I am the OP, I have not been following this thread due to lack of time to do so. I appreciate your input. When we share the gospel message with others it is for the glory of God, for his honor and praise, and for the salvation of human souls, to see them delivered from their slavery to sin and now walking in obedience to the Lord in holy living, all in the power and wisdom of God. None of this should be for ourselves or for our own gain or glory. Sue J Love
