Should I let God decide for me???

My husband and I are excited to adopt an infant from Russia in a few years!
We are unable to have biological children and are only going to have 1 child. We can't afford 2 children with the price of health insurance these days.

In Russia, we can choose a boy or a girl, but I told my husband ( who doesn't care which sex of the baby) that I prefer a girl over a boy. A boy would make me just as happy, but I have a slight preference for a girl.

Now, here is the question: Should I have God choose for me?? What would you do??
I feel a little guilty about choosing one over the other. Have any advice for me???

I personally would like to know how you would let God choose anyways. I would imagine that your choice in the end would be God's choice, but do explain

They could do it like the apostles did in Acts, when they had to choose Judas' replacement, which was to cast lots. They prayed that God's will would be done and then they cast a lot and it was for Mattias. However, that turned out to be a mistake because God had already chosen Paul to take his place, who would be coming along a few months later. Maybe you two should just be patient and let the answer just come to you. God be with you

Do you get to look over pictures? If you do look over them the Holy Spirit will probably jump when you have come to the right one. That is what happened for me when I had to do something similar to this. God is always always always looking out for you, and knows what is good for you. So, if you want what God wants then you will be getting the best thing for yourself I'm sure you already know that but it's nice to recall.

If you pray about it God will give you confirmation on this. Besides adoption is already something that has been established as biblical...if you have the love and the desire to adopt I feel that is God's first nudging to consider this!

Shrock Go with the girl, it makes common sense. Who knows what sort of anti-social genetics you could be getting, better mediate that by getting the female.
