• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

After telling my grandmother about my transsexuality and atheism, she told me not to influence my brothers, and not to talk to them about it.

So my question is, should I be quarantined and locked away so my subversive ideas aren't spread?

My question is, can they be locked away? I havent told my brother anything about my being transgendered, but he gets the idea. Not to mention at least one of your brothers seems to be an atheist too

What you need is to find your true self in Jesus.

Yikes. At the same time? Any heart attacks?

My advice is to be yourself but try to respect your grandmothers wishes by trying not to force your views on them. But you shouldn't lock yourself away, either. Sort of a middle road approach.

I think I would have to know the kind of relationship you and your grandmother, and you and your brothers have. It's always a nice thing to respect your gradma's wishes, but if you must breach her instructions in order to keep your sanity, then I see no problem with it.

Man, that really sucks. Never try to hide your true self. It will only make you unhappy, and anyway the people who truly love you will be there and love you unconditionally, and they would not want you to fake it or to distance yourself from them. *hugs*

I found my true self without Jesus, thank you very much.
It certainly does not sound like it to me. It sounds as if you are very confused and trying to discover something that is not there. You were born one gender and that is how God made it. Seeking to destroy that is evidence of a very confused individual, imo.

You can't read? This person is obviously very confused and is searching for validation from their grandmother. The only one we need to be validated by is Jesus and He would not approve of such things. You are a Christian, right?

Actually, I don't need validation from my grandmother. How do you know Jesus wouldn't approve of such things? He tell you?

Dracon, when I became an atheist, I didn't advertise it -- but, if anyone asked, I didn't lie about it, either. Nor did I continue to go to church and pretend I was something I was not.

This might be a path you want to consider.

And CrownCaster -- letting your family know about your lifestyle is not seeking validation. They are your family. You are supposed to tell them. It's called love and respect, generally.
