• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

    If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

    If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together.   • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

For years I have been having dreams about dying in various gruesome ways, of being chased and executed, tortured and stuff like that. I have also had many dreams where I watch people die, see the world destroyed, kill people, butcher my family and friends, or am forced to kill people.

I never really thought much of these dreams because I actually quite enjoy them as they are pretty exciting and creative, but on telling people about them, some seem to think I am going to turn out to be a psycopathic serial killer, while others are just concerned that the Devil may be entering my dreams.

I wasn't terribly concerned except that people were saying I should pray to God for them to stop and for help, but I find this hard to do...
It has been on my mind the last couple of days because I was talking to someone who said to me that no one could help me, not even God because I didn't want the dreams to stop. This kinda shocked me and made me think that perhaps there was something wrong with having dreams like this...

Should I be concerned?

Hi Catrione, love your name. I know that some dreams can be thrilling, but if it were me personally I would pray that God take the dreams away. I keep having bad dreams from reading some posts, and pray that God take them away, and He will. I've also found I can laugh at nightmare's to wake me up out of them. I read that in a book.

I don't know the answer to your question about being concerned, but I think that graphic dreams like that are more nightmarish. They must scare you sometimes huh?
