Found this very interesting video giving a possible explanation of Biden's behavior.

The 'behind closed doors Biden is juggling chainsaws while doing trigonometry' line reminded me of this classic skit:

Roosevelt was never “too feeble”; Wilson suffered a stroke in 1919 and his wife Edith would “relay” the President’s wishes to his cabinet, perhaps this is the case you had meant?

FDR was in poor health when he went into his forth term and died towards the end of it. The poor guy looked like death warmed over. Hard to believe he was my age when this photo was taken. Wilson is probably also a good example.

He died three+ months into his fourth term, the Yalta conference had taken its toll, it’s true.
But Eleanor never took the reins.

In a year's time, as the US presidential election nears its climax, it's possible Hillary Clinton will be the Democratic Party's candidate, with a chance of becoming the first female president. But there was once another woman in the White House who came close to fulfilling this description - Eleanor Roosevelt, wife of America's wartime president Franklin Delano Roosevelt.

Well, the Democrats do not like her, and the modern Republicans do not like her, so that means she seems closer to the center. I like the underdogs who do not stand for either party the most. She can outperform Joe with a lot of things.

A dead monkey would be better than Joe at this point

Tell me what legislation she had passed that you would support her candidacy?

Well, I am not there yet, but just from her speaking, she sounds much more confident compared to Joe.

You support her because she speaks better than Joe? So does Trump

Well, I am not a fan of Trump for reasons that I have stated elsewhere on the forums. I like the old-school Republicans from before 2016, such as Romney, maybe cos I am an old soul.

Funny in a way; but really it is just sad. It's not an age thing, it is a dementia thing. It's obviously upsetting to those who support him, but rubbing it in too much isn't kind. The Democrats should just pick another candidate and let the poor guy alone.

It appears that more and more Democratic Party politicians are frustrated with Joe Biden.
As opposed to the Republican Party politicians who are apparently terrified of Trump, self reflection and reconsidering your choices is a sign of a healthy party that isn’t ideologically committed to one terrible candidate.

The worst thing that can happen to the GOP now would be for the democrats to drop Biden and pick someone younger, sharper and with far less baggage than Trump.

Donald Trump is, by far, the one that the vast majority of Republican voters want. But, the liberals appear to believe that Trump is a "terrible candidate.

Honest question here. Does the Democratic Party have a potential candidate for president who can step in if Biden drops out that is NOT beholden to the progressive left?

I have found a few centrist democrats (such as the Democrats for Life of America, a pro-life Democrat group), but the democrats have shunned them. On the other side, I have found a few centrist Republicans, and the GOP has shunned them also. The third decade of the 21st century has become the shunning game. We need to go back to the 1970s-2010 era. For instance, in the 1970s, Richard Nixon (a Republican) supported the stewardship of the environment with his environmental policies.

Rep. Henry Cuellar (a pro-life Democrat) was shunned by his own party in 2022: https://www.politico.com/news/2022/05/23/henry-cuellar-abortion-house-democrats-primary-00034288

Cheney (a Republican) shunned by the Republicans in 2021: https://www.politico.com/news/2021/05/12/liz-cheney-removed-leadership-position-487522

He is a terrible candidate. The only election he’s ever won was in 2016 against the next most unpopular candidate in history, Hillary Clinton.

Republicans have gone on to lose every major electoral race since 2016. They lost the House in 2018 and the presidency in 2020 and the Senate in 2021 and the red wave that was supposed to be a mandate against Biden in 2022 was more of a pinkish purple puddle. This was all fallout from one terrible candidate who lost the popular vote twice, once to old Joe Biden and once to corrupt Hillary Clinton.

Republicans may overwhelmingly support him but moderates not committed to MAGA ideology along with democrats want nothing to do with the man.
Honest question here. Does the Democratic Party have a potential candidate for president who can step in if Biden drops out that is NOT beholden to the progressive left?
The most obvious replacement would VP Harris but there’s also a few governors who’ve shown ambitions of being president recently and would have the executive experience to do the job well and name recognition to draw in voters.

There’s a few others who would also do quite well against Trump.

Where did this conspiracy theory come from?

It came from an interview where Obama said he would enjoy being president again if he could be the guy behind the curtain telling another person what to say and do from the basement while wearing sweatpants.

It went from there to a president who clearly has had severe dementia his entire presidency and whom no one thinks is capable of making a decision without help.

Do you remember in 2022 what it looked like for Obama and Biden to be in the same room at a white house event? Biden was completely ignored by all and sundry...

When you put the two items together you can clearly see where the idea came from, it came from Obama thinking two terms weren't enough and saying he'd love to play puppet master and then low and behold the next democratic party president... Well .. no need to say dementia.

But it definitely looks like Obama got exactly what he wanted... A 3rd term playing puppet master.

It was this interview that Obama made the statement:

https://www.cbc.ca/radio/thecurrent...-an-anomaly-in-canada-u-s-relations-1.5809466

I was thinking it was a 60 minutes interview but so far it seems to be this one, though perhaps he repeated this during another interview or I just remembered the interviewer incorrectly.

But yep, came from none other than Obama, and of course everything piled on top like a president who is non compos mentis and then the behavior of Democrats themselves when Obama is around...

Most people would have let the statement Obama made go if it weren't for everything else...

I must have missed where the Democrats forced Biden to renege on his pledge to only serve one term?
