Sometimes this can be one of the most difficult things for a Christian to do. Of course we need the Lords guideance in this matter.

Here is something interesting though.

Col 3:3 For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.

Since we are dead to the old man and our life is hid with Christ then it should not be so diffiuclt to share Christ. Dead men do not get embarssed.:preach:

I agree that we should not be embarrassed by our faith, but it is hard because we as humans want acceptance generally and we don't want to be pushed away from our peers. But whenever I start to feel wary about sharing my faith I remember a piece of scripture that a sister in my congregation gave me when I told her of my hesitation.

2 Timothy 1:8-12 "Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner: but be thou partaker of the afflictions of the gospel according to the power of God;
Who hath saved us, and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began,
But is now made manifest by the appearing of our Savior Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel:
Wherunto I am appointed a preacher, and an apostle, and a teacher of the Gentiles.
For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day."

'Dead men' or not :D we are still in the flesh, and this is where the battle is. The flesh is what the enemy wars against by putting thoughts of fear in our minds. Therefore, we fear that we'll be rejected, or that we will say the wrong thing, in the wrong way, at the wrong time, etc., etc, etc.

Its hard for us to remember, in the midst of an opportunity, but 'God did not give us a spirit of fear, but of power, and of love and of a sound mind.' [2 Tim 1:7]
I believe that this power, love and sound mind, is the Holy Spirit Himself. When the opportunity to share presents itself, we need to remember to pray instantly, asking the Lord to take the lead and give the words He wants said.

Mark 13:10 tells us 'Whenever you are arrested and brought to trial, do not worry beforehand about what to say. Just say whatever is given you at the time, for it is not you speaking, but the Holy Spirit.' These words are not just for the Apostle's time, but also, for us now. When we commit the situation into the Lord's hands and allow His spirit to reign, His words will touch where needed. :thumbsup:

Acts 1:8 says 'But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.' We can trust that He gives us all that we need to accomplish His will ... even if it is hard ... sometimes.
