  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Shabat Shalom

Beautiful Lulav!! Todah Rabbah!!

This is one of my favorite hymns. It never fails to bring awe at the thought of Adonai.

Of the pictures, awesome, especially the one of the lightening going through those layers of clouds. The last one, with the colorful clouds reminded me of my front porch in Cartersville Ga. I'd sit out there in my glider chair and quite often would see clouds like that over the trees heading into the mountains. They were so gorgeous. My time in Cartersville ended badly, but that picture reminded me that there were over 2 years of happiness in that house. So, again, gf, thank you.

Shabbat Shalom to all!!!!

It was a little harried, getting everything ready this time. The family is celebrating Sonny's birthday. Since I work at home, it fell to me to bake the cakes, do the laundry, clean the house, etc. By the time my DW arrived home, we had barely enough time to finish our preparations. Too late we realized we were out of Manischewitz candles. So she dug out some candles she had been saving from some past special events (like our wedding!).

I have an alarm set that plays Be'Lebi Tzafanti (my favorite) before sunset; when its time to put everything down and turn our praises to Adonai. By His grace, all of our chores were complete. Everything was prepared for the next day. Our table was set with a feast. We had our front door and window blinds partially open so that we could witness the transition from day to night. Candles cast dancing rays and shadows all over our home. The transformation from hurried preparation to candle lit Shabbat feast was captivating and wonderous. We could feel His shalom descend on us like a warm blanket on a cool and quiet night.

The playlist for the evening started out with Hineh Hu, Eli Eli, Hallelu Et Adonai, Kodesh, Zealous over Zion, and continued on for several hours. We ate, laughed, hugged, sang His praises, and danced. Later we ventured outside long enough to gaze at the full moon overhead while clinging to each other like two teenagers. The whole evening was wonderful. We rested well. Today we continue in our rest and study Torah. And for the time being, all is right with the world; at least it is for the part that we can see.

Blessings,

Shabbat Shalom!

The other day I felt like listening to a song from an artist that visited this site in the past, a few years ago. Maybe somebody here can remember his real name so I can find that song. He went by the name Yod here but I just can't remember his name.

I'm glad that brought back good memories for you GF!

That song to me has always brought a catch in my throat and I can't even get to the second verse singing it, I am so weighed down with the words.

I think it is the best praise song ever written.

I can't believe another week is past. This week has been stressful in some ways and very blessed in others. We are looking forward to the fruit of our labors. Please pray that we do well. Major meeting with some very influential people next week. Pray that is goes well. It will mean so much for our family if it does.

Sabbath is such a blessing. I pray for all of you that His Spirit works great blessings in your life this Sabbath. Pesach is right around the corner. I need to start making plans.

The last of the preparations are almost complete. Unfortunately, we ran out of the ingredients for challah, so it will be matzah tonight. Made a rotisserie turkey, spiced brown rice with mushrooms, onions and peppers, a robust salad and a few veggies. Mama is bringing the wine and a few things for the weekend. I am so looking forward to the lighting of candles, the singing of praise and a day of rest with Him and my sweetie.

Shabbat Shalom!

Shabbat shalom, all!

Time is growing short. The last of my urchins leaves the nest in June. I savor these last few months with him at home.

Meanwhile, my life becomes increasingly busy with writing and teaching. Not to mention a certain lady who craves my attention, for some unknown reason. :D

Time now to go home, enjoy Erev Shabbat with my son, and recuperate from the past week... so I can do it all over again next week.

Wish we could all get together and share our Shabbat meals! All sounds so good. I haven't been feeling well so nothing fancy tonight.

Baked Brie in a Brioche, Spinach garlic dip for starters

Meat and veggie loaf with tomato cherry sauce, smashed potatoes with garlic and broccoli and blueberry tarts and vanilla ice cream for dessert.

I'm looking at the map right now and see most of you have fair weather, we went from 66 on Wed, to 22 high today and now we are awaiting a clipper system to move through with snow, but not much is expected, but last week the high was in the teens, a very cool week!

Hope you all stay warm in his love!

Shabbat Shalom! and Gut Shabbos! :)

That's nothing special? When you feel better we should get together. You cook! :D

Dear Father in heaven; please send your ministering spirits to bless our dear sister. May your Spirit be upon her for healing and strength and may every hour of your Shabbat bring her a renewing in You. I ask this for all of our brothers and sisters too. May Yedida be well and healed in breathing, seeing and strengthened in every way. Send your blessings upon Visionary, Contra, Mishkan, Zion, Aniello, Net, Anisavta, Stone, everyone that I forgot to mention, and especially the Mods in this place, Tishri1, A New Dawn, Redheadedstepchild, twob4me, Nilla, Criada, FreeinChrist, PreachersWife2004, Sojourner1, DarylFawcett and Philothei; I ask that you remember them for good things. Forgive me my lapses and strengthen me to your purpose. Blessings to all.
