I came across this article when to try and find information about the chemical processes of sex. This is to find out why sex is seemingly addictive.

When I compare what is written in the 5 brain chemicals I find they only partially line up with my experience.
The narrowing experience is way beyond what I've ever experience. I've always been aware of my surroundings when having marital sex or watching porn. Ya, my mind is more focused, but no more than say when I'm mowing the lawn or a skill saw.

The change in terminology in the porn flow seems to be designed to create shame more than to remain factual:
The viewer is able to self-medicate and escape the reality of life.
Sex with one's wife/husband can do the same thing.

So this sounded much more like an agenda than a the science of brain chemicals to me.

I agree with Dayhiker. The first article sounds like it is written from a biased point of view, with an agenda, rather than from a scientific point of view. The second article is very scientific, but unfortunately, has conclusions only at a very elementary state.

God has blessed me with a tremendous second wife, after my first great wife died. We have been married almost three years now, and I just love the feeling of being addicted to being in love with her. I realize that is not a statistically valid sample, but I thought it might be relevant.
