• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I think either, thoughts that you think you absoloutly have no control over(which is maybe more of a concern over weakness in that area or demonic opression than OCD), or, what It's called religeous OCD(which is typical normal fleshly thoughts that every christian has That does not mean they should indulge in, but the individual is so terrified of it occuring that they have developed some kind of a phobia and fear toward it happening in their mind and therefore is obsessed with confessing and ultimately not thinking about it.The problem with this is that the fear actually causes the person to be even more sensetive and hyper toward his/her thought about it and therefore it keeps happening even more in their mind. In either case GOD loves us and with the proper consultaion and prayer and support the individual should receive more and more peace and victory over this area. I hope this helps.

I understand i have touched upon a sensitive issue, but i believe it is important for me to ask this for peace of mind. In what forms can sex ocd affect you or instrusive sexual thoughts?
Many forms of this can be ocd related. Go and see your doctor and advise him/her on what types of thoughts you are having. Your doctor should then be able to tell you if these are normal thoughts for your age, as you are turning into a woman....or if it's something else like ocd and you need to see a therapist.

God bless you,

I don't think your age much matters in this situation. The point is that you are having these problems with these thoughts and only a team of a psychiatrist and counselor can help sort through them. Even if this is a non-OCD related incident it sounds like you could still use some counseling. There is nothing to be ashamed with admitting that you are having some struggles and need a little bit of help sorting through it. I actually think that since you are younger you should take care of this soon so you can put all of this behind you and enjoy life and become who God wants you to be.

I'm praying for you.

Hi Softee,
I think Seajoy gave the best advice on this issue. It could very well be OCD related since the thought are considered unwanted or intrusive to you and bother you intensely. Only a Doctor can help you to sort it out depending on the kind of thoughts you are having and how they are affecting your quality of life.
OCD can interefere with many areas of normal life and some people have OCD thoughts on sexual issues so you wouldn't be the first one.
Praying for you,
Mitzi
